Unplug the laptop, remove battery. Reinsert battery and plug back in the laptop. Boot it back up. If you're back in windows and the touch pad is not responding yet. Right click on MY COMPUTER then goto PROPERTIES, then DEVICE MANAGER. make sure there isn't a yellow exclamation mark. Regardless the next step is to visit Acers website and download the driver. Reinstall the touchpad driver and you should be back up and running. -Ravi Shanghavi, Ottawa

The issue might be with the corrupted drivers. I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers

Touch pad is not responding

depending on the model. right aboce it there could be a little button that looks like the toch bad with a line through it. press that and try again.

on another model there was a touch pad icon in the system tray. click that to disable the touchpad. might need an external mouse to do it.

Mouse is not responding at all

you need to go to device manager...
right click "my Computer"
select "manage"
select "device manager"
click the + sign for "mice and other pointing devices"
select your touch pad...

try to enable it or find what is wrong from there

You'll need a USB mouse or something of that ilk to do it.

good luck
