SOURCE: Dryer will not dry clothes properly

Problem: The drum spins, but there is no heat.
Solution: This could be the effect of a number of problems. Here's a list of things to check and details on how to do it.

  • Fuse could be bad -- Check the fuse for a break inside. If it’s bad, replace it with an identical fuse.
  • Temperature switch could be bad -- Use VOM to check the switch. Set VOM to RX1, remove leads and touch the probes to the switch's terminals. The reading should be zero or infinity. Turn the switch, and the reading should change from zero to infinity or infinity to zero. If not, the switch is bad.
  • Thermostat could be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1, take a lead off one of the two outside terminals and press the probes to the two outside terminals. There should be a reading of zero. If not, it's bad.
  • Heating coils may be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1 and remove the leads from the coil. Press the probes to the terminals. If the reading is zero, the coil is bad.
  • Timer could be bad -- Disconnect the leads from the motor. Set the VOM to RX100. Clip the probes onto the leads. If the reading is infinity, the timer motor is bad.

SOURCE: Our dryer lint trap won't go down all the way and

It may be backwards. But the first thing I would look for is if there is lint caught in the shute keeping it from going down all the way. If it is a newer model there is a lint screen sensor that may have come unattached and keeping the lint screen from going down all the way. Good luck.

SOURCE: lint trap doesnt fit in slot completely evenly

Remove the trap and look in the hole and see what is keeping it from going in. If the screen is damaged, replace it.

SOURCE: LEQ1442ES--Nasty Smelling Clothes--Major lint inside

They make a 'air vent' lint cleaner and there is a handy brush made for cleaning your fridge coils that would work great. After you clean it, toss a 'Bounce' dryer sheet in to freshen it up!

Lint build up

This is likely the result of an air flow problem. Ensure you are not running the dryer in a small closed room which would starve the dryer of air dramatically reducing the air over the clothes even if the full length of your vent is brand new. Next, remove the vent hose from the rear of the dryer and check for strong air flow at the outlet. If it seems strong enough then run a vent through a window or out into another room and do one load in this fashion. If this resolves your problem the blockage exists in the vent line outside your dryer and disassembling dryer becomes unnecessary. Check for vent line kinking once dryer is moved into normal position.

If not, ensure you have seen and touched every inch of interior dryer piping and hold the lint filter up to the light to be sure you can see through it. Disassemble and clean ANY section of piping you can't get your hand into. The area below the lint filter tends to catch a lot of lint and can only be accessed by a brush specifically designed for the small opening.

Remember.....the dyer heater is energized even if no air flows over the clothes. The heat will usually enter the drum overheating the clothing AND the underside of the top until a safety thermostat turns the heater off. This is a fire hazard that MAY ignite lint or clothing.

Having performed all these actions will likely resolve the problem.

Lint filter on LG DLEX2901V sticks up in the corner and catches clothes

Look familiar? LG dryer model DLEX3250W. Lint frame does not fit the slot anymore. NOT BECAUSE OF EXTRA LINT it's because the frame is warping.

We have a combo dryer and washer. Washer is A2444330KH. Leaves lint on cotton shirts, have cleaned the filter no help. Any ideas? David

Dryer lint not only presents a problem by cluttering up your clothes with white specks, but it can also lead to a dryer fire. While it is impossible to completely eliminate dryer lint, you can take action to drastically reduce lint and the potential problems that come along with excess dryer lint. If your clothes take more than one cycle to dry, you see no lint on the lint screen, the clothes are very hot after drying or you find excess lint on the clothes after drying, you probably have a problem with accumulation of dryer lint in the dryer vent.
Use a dryer vent cleaning brush and clean the dryer vent, or hire a professional to clean the exhaust vent behind your dryer. If your dryer vent is clogged, it will create excess dust in the dryer and on the clothes. The excess lint can eventually catch on fire given the heat load of the dryer.

Ijwant to dry my cloth but when i turn on it appear check filter how i am going to fix

You should empty the lint filter. The lint filter catches all the lint from your clothes and will need cleaned occassionally. I clean my lint filter after every load. Towels usually clog the filter faster than other clothes.

AF Code flashes briefly; Clothes don't dry - vent clear

Remove the back of the dryer and chek the lint filter area from the lint catching filter to the exhaust tube. There is a blockage in airflow even though you feel the air at the exhaust there still insn't enough air flow to allow the proper drying of the clothes. This symptom that you gave clothes being hot but not dry the only cause for this is improper air flow

My lint filter assembly is broken. I was drying a small load of clothes and the lint filter got tangled with clothes and came out into the drum. The dryer was stopped when I found this situation. ...

The drum should turn either direction. Part of the filter must be catching in the belt at the drum or motor when turning clockwise. CCW would push it out away from the belt so no pinching.
