Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 Digital Camera

Open Question

My Dimage Z6 (which has 6 megapizels and an optical zoom x 12) which I bought about four years ago is fine but needs a new memory card reader, does anyone know where to get one as I can't use the camera without it. I don't really want to buy a new camera but may have to. As Konica are no longer in business I understand spare parts are thin on the ground. Thanks Karen

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: SD card won't stay in camera

Quick fix... Roll a little piece of paper up or fold into a small square the set it on top of the memory card and tape that down. so that it puts pressure on the card and keeps it seated in the slot. It sounds like the spring inside the camera is broken. which you will need to have sent out to be repaired unless you have a local camera repair person. And that is going to take about a month. Actually more... unless you find a local repair person. Because Sony bought out minolta a couple years ago and shut down all the minolta repair centers and got rid of almost all their parts. I once had a customer who sent in a minolta to get it fixed and it took about 8 months to get it back. Because of parts.
So You will probably want buy a new camera. but there are still a lot of those Minolta's around on clearance and you can get a great price.
Hope that helps,
Caleb

My mode switch also failed. As an electronics tech (retired), I was able to source the proper part, and replace it. The camera is perfect again. I have more of those switches in stock.

You probably need to move the small switch on the memory card to the open position.

I have memory problems. I take pictures and it appears OK on the camera. But when I put the card in a reader, it only shows pictures from over a year ago that have been deleted long ago.

The camera might have saved those picture on it's internal memory and not the memory card, hence why you see old pictures that you say you have deleted and new ones do not appear.

Hi sir
#1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
# 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
# 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

I have the same problem, but when I remove the MS Pro Duo card (1GB) from the camera it works fine again. The memory card works fine in a pc memory card reader. Is there a problem with the Sony camera built-in card reader?

Use a memory card in the camera, then use a generic USB memory card reader to transfer your pictures off the memory card. Camera USB cord drivers are always a pain to use.

Hi I am Brenda, and I have a chance to get a new DVC Digital Camcorder for $149.00 plus extra software. But not sure what cam is worth because I cant seem to find it. 12 megapix max res. 1.6 flip out...

You can get the camera cheaper by going to www.aptek.com or it might be www.aiptek.com Can't remember exactly.
digital zoom is worthless, you would not be happy with it. That said, I bought both my daughters each one last year. They love them. Only problem is they are not built to take ANY shocks or vibrations, so if it is in your purse, and you drop your purse-it may not work. Optical zoom is the only way to go. I would suggest getting a usb card reader for it. only 5 or so bucks on up. The card reader is faster, and less frustrating, ad works much better than the softwear.
