If you are going to try to repair this yourself and can't find a schematic diagram, read the following page. It should help you through basic troubleshooting.

Have a kenwood KAC-8101D and found a burnt resistor at R101 brown gren brown gold.. The blue power light turns on indicating power but no sound comes out anyone know what else is fried or what else to...

without a diagram, and the exact location of the resistor in the amp, it is almost impossible to say if anything else is defect. Most of the time, a burned resistor, if it is defect, it had to much current, so the transistor (alone or in a IC) got to much and perhaps also died.

If you don't have the skills, tools and diagram (service manual) don't start it, you end up with something that does not amplify anything.

Chevy astro

2 fuses to check, Kevin: in the instrument panel fuse block, 20 amp fuse #12, Htr-A/C. In the under hood fuse block, Frt HVAC fuse, 30 amp.

The new resistor you put in, was it called a "Blower Motor Resistor and Relay Pack" ? It appears there is a relay there with the resistor, but appears to only be used with htr on high speed. However the low speed wiring is also routed through this relay. If it was the Pack you put in, guess that is not an issue.
In the Heater and A/C Control Module is the blower switch. The power in to the control module is a brown wire (from the #12 fuse in instr. panel). With key on should be hot. It appears the brown wire goes to the mode switch and then to the blower switch. Check for power in, and check continuity of both switches. Or check if blower switch has power to it, then check for continuity in it-it should have continuity in all speeds.
If all is good so far, you need to check if blower motor ground is good.
Here can be found a wiring diagram for your Astro. Look for heater controls under the system called "HVAC". Every wiring diagram and TSB for the Astro (or any make, model) can be found here:

Good luck.

15 amp fuse blows and no running lights. What's wrong?

Hi Anonymous, you have a hard/dead short that should be easy to find generally they are the easiest. Time to get out your test light and connect it to the power side of the, circuit breaker or the blown fuse receiver, start by tracking the out bound wire towards the ignition switch and beyond if necessary, when the test light quits lighting you are very close to your short. Heater &air wont work

Resistor , check it out. Conect power to the motor direct , see if it rotates. Hot wire it with a fuse and a swich through the resistor for different speeds. It will be manual not auto unless you want to change the module. Re calibrate the vent doors , and do a diagnostic if you have tha auto modul . Vitally

Blower motor wont run has power to motor

that little black box is tha heater resistor block. power goes into it and comes out the different speeds what ever the switch is turned to. it sounds like all the resistor coils inside the block have blown, quite common on all cars.just to make sure the motor is still ok follow the cables that go from the block into the motor , only 2 put power on one of them and earth out the other one and the motor should run at full speed . if it does change the resistor block and all the speeds should then work. hope this helps.

Got the hot nd ground conted nd the aux cables from the raido conted nd the amp does not turn on

The amp needs a remote signal to turn on. This is provided by wire from the back of your head unit. Also look for a 'REM' or 'remote' connection on the amp (besides the 12v and ground connection).

Look at the wiring/setup diagram for your head unit to determine which wire/connection you should use for this.

If the head unit does not have a specific 'remote' wire, you can usually use the power antenna wire to provide a turn on signal to the amp instead.
