Question about West Bend 84323 Slow Cooker

Open Question

My slow cooker smells like something electrical is burning when I turn it on? Also is there suppose to be a screw and bolt or nut under the cooker because I notice every other cooker has a screw and bolt under the Model #84323 Date code 0031, Listed 3098, 120 vac 68 HZ 220w. I bought 2 of these cookers sometime back, either of them has a screw on the bottom. If It does require a screw/bolt where can I find one?

Thats the way it is supposed to be. if it was too tight, it would not automatically release when necessary.

Just bought the 5 Qt electric pressure cooker. Tonight is the first time I'm using it. Got two questions.....is the pressure release valve supposed to be so loose? I'm also seeing steam and condensation...

Your gasket is no good and needs to be repaired. The water is supposed to be pressurized as high heat steam and when pressure is excessive the valve does its thing to lower to acceptable levels.

Our slow cooker will not turn on - we have only used it 5 times. It is All Clad Electric slow cooker. It won't power up at all the plugs are fine b/c other stuff is plugged on on the outlet. Any Idea's?...

I have the same problem. The display lights up and everything, but it doesn't produce any heat. I suspect it's a problem with the "weight sensor" on the bottom, but I'm not sure. Anyone?

Model 3755 5.5 qt. Crock Pot base unit burned out

for what they get at a repair versus a replacement you better start looking, it will cost you more just to get an estimate than a new unit will cost

Plastic handle Rival slow cooker model 38511 broken

The problem is the threads strip on the bolt and nut. I took these to Home Depot's specialty fastener section (the one with the drawers of stuff) and purchased a nylon bolt and nylon wing nut and solved the problem. I is easy to remove for cleaning and all is dishwasher safe.

Funny smell coming from Rival 38601 Smart Pot 6-Quart

I had a similar smell coming from my crock Pot when I used it the first couple of times. After about the second or third time, the smell went away. I always figured it was the metals and such heating up to such a high temperature for the first time.

It never seemed to effect the taste fo the food....and my family is still alive!! :)

Hope this helps!
