Question about Panasonic PT-56DLX75 56" HDTV

1 Answer

Replaced projection with factory recommended unit and tv worked fine. After about a month, tried to turn on and it was like no power. Checked all the obvious thing, power to outlet, cord in all the way etc. Stopped trying and used another tv for abou 6 month. Just for kicks, pushed the power button on the big unit and the green power light came on. Still no picture or sound, but didn't know if cable was hooked up or not, so shut down to check and cable was indeed hooked up. Tried to power back up and no green light. Any suggestions, like is there an overload reset button somewhere or ????

other sources have talked about bad capacitors on the circuit board. have question if the oscillator on the high voltage section have let the green light come on once and then not again?
Would like another opinion before I haul it off to a shop.

No there isn't I'm sorry. You said that you replaced a unit a few months ago. I am going to save you money this go round. You have a bad oscilater which is a high powered IC chip in the High Voltage Section of your TV. You will have to have a tech do it. Just a word to the wise always tell the tech to let you see the part they replace and dont get suckerd into buying a whole unit when all you need to do is to replace one part on that unit to correct the problem

My magnavox died due to cheap capacitors on power supply board, a common problem for magnavox tv's from wot i found on net!
I replaced a 2200uf 10v electrolytic capacitor and it works now:)
My tv would take a few atempts to turn on and finally would not turn on,light stayed red!
i recommend visually checking for bulging or blown capacitors on power board, if it all looks good, try warming the board with a hair dryer, this might be just enough to get it to fire up, so at least u know the prob is in that area.
I looked for a 2200uf capacitor near the low voltage output from board n replaced it, got lucky first one, I was expecting to replace all the low voltage electrolytic capacitors.

Unplug the TV for maybe 10 minutes, then turn it on. Sometimes these units simply need to recycle. If that doesn't work, you've likely got serious problems.

Need Help big screen turns on thens goes off

a tv has two components, firstly a power supply produces high voltage to trigger a line transformer, in turn a transformer produces smaller voltages. firstly check if the ht is constantly been produced from a supply, if this is there than go to a line transformer, and check voltages at the output.

Toshiba 51H93 won't turn on **HELP**

Good Day, jsilver05;
That's a very good TV, sorry you're having a problem. I have the same TV.
1. The blurring of the pic may be an indication of a convergence problem.
2. The surge protector is not a fail safe device, it will reduce damage to the TV but will not not 100% protect it.
It is possible that by turning the power off may damaged the already weaken convergence circuit, but more then likely some other electronic device failed.Like a voltage regulator, high voltage device, and etc.
At this point I would recommend that you call a factory authorized service dealer and them come out and give you an estimate, or you can e me if want troubleshoot TV if you have digital meter etc.
Good Luck, big IRISH, mmrkcar@yahoo.com.

Check that none of the other capacitors are faulty. They may have 'Capacitor Plague' if they are from the same factory.
