uninstall the printer driver from prog and feature if u have vista / or add and remove prog for xp computer. remember whatever u see in the list related to printer uninstall everything. make sure the printer is disconnected from the computer.
restart the computer and go to hp site. click support and driver.click download drivers put the model number in highlighted bar click go. select the operating system of your computer finally click the download tab and install. follow the wizard that should resolve your issue.
Is this a USB connection? Did you plug it in before you installed the drivers? If so then the registry keys will have been modified. You will either have to google which one to change back or run system restore which should do the same thing
When you install the printer software is it installed properly? if the printer is installed properly then you will do need to do the same step. First, uninstall the printer software by going to control panel > add/remove programs and then uninstall all the printer software. then go to control panel > printer and faxes if printer is present in the printer and faxes delete the printer. Restart the computer. Before reinstalling the printer software turn off your firewall, anti-virus, spyware if you have any. Then reinstall the printer. Try to scan again. if it works then try to restart your computer and scan again. it should work
There are actually 2 critical updates for your PSC try downloading both uninstall the printer again and start afresh. Remember remove any HP programmes that have been installed and to discnnect the printer before reinstalling. This should solve your problem hopefully.
Does your computer have Windows XP installed? If it has and you use the installation disk that came with your HP 2355 All-in-One you should be able to easily scan and save the photos to My Pictures.
After installing the features put a photo in the printer, go into My Pictures and you should get a message at the top of the menu on the left of the screen saying 'Get Pictures from camera or scanner'.
Clicking this brings up a screen which leads you through the Scanner and Camera Wizard for HP PSC 2350 Series.
I have scanned and saved many photos using this facility.
Hope this helps
