The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer.

When I plug cable from camera to USB computer connection, nothing happens!

Not enough information. The transferring of files requires a sequence of functions to happen before the pictures will transfer to the computer. You will need the camera software installed on the computer. The camera sequence for transfer and each camera is different, some just need you to turn the camera on after connecting the USB cable while others require you press the "Playback" button to transfer files. Depending on the camera software installed on a computer they "normally" download to a file folder then the pictures can be opened in the software programing.

My fine pics camera is not uploading the pictures to my pc. It's saying connect camera and turn power on. Can you please tell me what the problem is

I think you are missing a step or pushing the wrong power button.

The sequence should go like this first make sure the batteries are up to power if there is an interruption the pictures could become lost and corrupt the memory card.

Turn the camera off, connect the USB cable to the computer USB port not a hub or keyboard port.

to turn the camera on Fine Pix Viewer will start and the save Image Wizard will display follow on screen instructions to download pictures.

To disconnect make sure the indicator lamp is off then press the same button for about a second to shut the camera off THEN disconnect the camera from the computer.
You should then format the memory card to begin fresh with a clean card and allow the camera and memory card to properly communicate between each other without errors.
Here is a diagram to show you were and how to format the card.
Have fun with your camera

Have same problem - did not get a CD with my mobile L6 'phone

Install on your computer the software that came with your digital cameramag-glass_10x10.gif.
  • Step 2 Connect your camera to your computer using the USB cable that came with your camera. You must have a USB port to download pictures to your computer.
  • Step 3 Choose the folder where you want your pictures downloaded. The computer will choose the "My Pictures" folder by default unless you want them in a different folder.
  • Step 4 Preview the pictures. You can delete any you don't like or want. Make sure to delete them off your camera as well or the next time you download that picture will downloaded again.
  • Step 5 Select a picture and print. Some software will let you put borders and cute sayings on your pictures. Have fun with it.

I cannot transfer video it just says "busy"on the digital camera and nothing happens (i left it there for 2 hours)

Hi. You have to install the drivers for your digital camera in order to connect it to your computer. Follow these steps in sequence

1- Use the CD which came with your camera and install the drivers. If you do not have the CD, you can download the drivers from the website of Canon.

2- move the dail to play, connect your camera to your computer and turn it on. Follow the screen until says it is ready. It sould take a minute or two.

3- Now click start, then computer. You should see an icon with all or part of Canon Powershot A1000IS... Double click on that, you will see one or more folders with your stored pictures and videos.

You may now download, delete, copy all of those pictures and videos.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont have a cd for my camera and need a free driver so i can download pictures to my computer

You should not need a driver for the Sanyo VPC-T1060 to download pictures to your computer. By plugging your camera in with the USB cord, and selecting PC mode in the menus, Windows Explorer will see your camera as a removable storage device.

You can follow step-by-step directions in the VPCT1060 Users Manual here.

Photos are out of sequence, summer mixed with winter, one event mixed in all other mixed events.

The camera just assigns names in numerical order (IMG1234, DSC5678, etc.). If you delete pictures or transfer some to your computer and leave gaps in the sequence, the camera will reuse the names. So your photos are out of sequence based on the filenames.

The easiest solution is to not let pictures accumulate in the camera. It's not a safe thing to anyway, since if something happens to the camera or its memory card you will lose all your pictures. When you finish shooting a bunch, upload them to your computer so you can file them. Change the names to something more meaningful than the simple camera-assigned number. Put them into folders so you can find all your trip to the beach photos easily. THEN BACK THEM UP ONTO A CD!!

If you have a whole bunch of pictures in the camera already and they are mixed up, you can upload them to your computer and use the software that came with the camera to organize them by photo date. You can also download applications such as Picasa to do it.

    Hello ritagirl1953:

Search with key words on the Internet with a search engine such as, using words including the camera name and model, and asking for software and manual. Usually you can go to the digital camera's makers website. For instance, and then look for your model and download what you need.
If you need to get the pictures from the camera, I suggest for you to buy a card reader which can be connected to your computer to eliminate the need for any software or drivers. You can then down load all the pictures to your computer with out the need to use the camera. Once the pictures are on the computer, then you can edit them with an editor, print them, etc.
