OK, I don't really understand what you mean
:I tried to enter the information from hotmail but couldn\'t save it because it was wanting more defining: (sic)
You do not define exactly what the "Information" is, so I presume it's to do with your email account...
This is happening because you are not entering the correct details, or are typing something in wrong, check to see your Caps lock isn't on, or you aren't starting writing as fa to the left in the edit box, For instance I noticed you started this post with a Colon : Maybe you did something like that?
Just ensure ALL of what you type is correct and if it is entering existing data make sure it is the same as what hotmail has already.
No if it is something in a hotmail email, some data you wish to use, simply copy/paste it to wherever you need to do it... it's best NOT to try and type it in. That or copy/paste it to a notepad document, and then copy/paste or copy exactly from the notepad document.
When something needs more defining, that means you haven't entered ALL the "Fields" in the form you are filling out, you need to go over the form again and make sure you haven't missed anything.

Am trying. To enter my email and password. An it won't. Let me get my contacts

When your contacts are saved on the mail server, like on Yahoo and Gmail (hotmail and others) you need to login or you won't get any information from that account. Try all passwords you ever used, yo get to the account.
Make a list an only tag o password after you tried and did not get in.

Why can't I connect to my hotmail account from my IPAD?

If you are using iOS 7 and want to connect your hotmail account so that it is the account you see when you use the iPad's "Mail" app, do this:
  1. Open the "Settings" app
  2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" (on the left)
  3. Tap "Add Account" (on the right)
  4. Tap "Outlook.com"
  5. Fill in the blanks (your hotmail email address & password)
  6. Pick which hotmail stuff you want to sync with your iPad
  7. Tap Save.
(If you see "Unable to verify account information", double-check your email address & password).

When my friend set up my computer he put his email in as back up if ever I had trouble he could access my computer. Now every time I send an email it reads from him & a lot of my friends won't even open it...

Every email message lists a sender name in the "From" field.
This name is defined by the value you entered in your email client when you first configured your account.
If you marry, divorce or need to change your name for any other reason, common email clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express and web-based services such as Windows Live Hotmail and Gmail, give you the ability to change the sender name to any alternate value with just a few clicks.

Click the "File" button near the top-left corner of the screen, select "Info" and click "Account Settings."
Select the name of your email account, and click the adjacent "Change" button.

Enter your preferred sender name in the "Your Name" field.

Click "Next," followed by "Finish," to confirm the change.

Microsoft Outlook Express 6

Click "Tools" in the top menu bar, and select "Accounts."

Select the "Mail" tab in the resulting dialog box.

Select the name of your email account, and click the adjacent "Properties" button.

Select the "General" tab on the screen that follows, and enter your preferred sender name in the "Name" field.

Click "OK," followed by "Close," to confirm your change.

Windows Live Hotmail

Log into your Windows Live Hotmail account.

Click the "Options" button near the top-right corner of the window, and select "More Options."

Click the "Account details" link located below the "Managing your account" heading.

Locate your name on the following screen, and click the adjacent "Change" link.

Enter your preferred sender name using the "First name" and "Last name" fields, and click "Save."

Gmail

Log into your Gmail account.

Click the "Settings" link located near the top-right corner of the window.

Click the "Accounts and Import" link on the screen that follows.

Look to the "Send mail as" section, locate your email address and click the adjacent "Edit info" link.

Enter your preferred sender name in the "Name" field, and click "Save Changes."

Change of email address

The act of changing your email address is simple.
However, you can save yourself a lot of headaches by doing some planning before you begin. Just as with changing your home address, one of the main challenges with changing your email address is making sure that you do not loose any important contacts.
Another challenge to is avoiding bringing your old spam contacts with you.
A third challenge is to find an email address that fits your needs.

Gather your contacts into a single list.
Remember, that you probably have a lot more contacts than just the ones currently set up on your "favorite contacts" list on your email account.
Spend some time going through you email history and identify older contacts that you may not have used in a while, but which you do not want to loose.
Think about your needs before setting up a new email account.
Think about the kinds of attachments you like to send? Do you need higher capacity? Also think about what kind of interface your prefer.
Some prefer a simple, bare-bones interface, while others prefer something more elaborate.
Ask yourself if the address itself is important to you.
Some people are quite picky about this.
Ask yourself what you dislike about your current service.
This will help you to better pinpoint what you desire from your new service.
Check out your options.
There are a lot of free web-based email services out there.
These are great for some purposes, but if you need really high capacity, or require greater security, then you might want to look for a different type of service that you will need to pay for.
Read the privacy policy carefully of any email service you are considering.
Make sure you are not making any commitments you are uncomfortable with.
Test your new address.
Once you set up you new address, have a few close friend email you regularly for a few days to make sure it is really what you want before informing all you contacts.
Send out a single mass-mailing to all your contacts, once you have established your new address, and tested it.
Be careful to weed out all the spammers before you do this.
Keep your old email address active for a while after establishing your new address.
How long you need to do this depends upon how much email traffic you have.
The more traffic, and the more contacts you have, the longer you should keep your address active.
Generally speaking, your should plan to wait at least one month before abandoning you old address. In some cases, you may want to keep checking it for several months. Change Contacts on Hotmail
Hotmail is a free online email service provided by MSN.
Hotmail users can create contact lists in their email accounts, which allows them quick access to the contact information of their friends, families and co-workers.
The contact lists can be easily changed, contacts can be added or deleted, information can be updated and certain contacts can be designated as favorites.
Contact favorites are listed on the inbox menu for easy accessibility when composing emails or instant messaging.

Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID.
This will open your Hotmail inbox.
Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.
Click "New" to add a contact to your list.
Type in the contact's name, nickname, address, business information and phone number.
You can also add other information, such as a person's birthday and personal notes.
Click "Save."
Your contact list will be immediately updated with the new contact's information.
Delete a contact by checking the box next to his name.
Click "Delete." Click "OK" to confirm that you wish to delete this contact.
How to Change Hotmail Contact Information
Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID.
This will open your Hotmail inbox.
Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.
Check the box next to the contact whose information you wish to change.
Click "Edit." Modify the contact information.
Click "Save" to update the contact's listing.
How to Create or Delete Hotmail Contact Favorites
Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID.
This will open your Hotmail inbox.
Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.
Check the box next to the contact that you would like to make a favorite.
Click "Categories" from the top toolbar.
Pick "Favorites" from the drop-down menu.
The contact has now been added to the Hotmail favorites list.
Delete a contact from the favorites list by clicking on "Favorites" in the left-hand menu.
Click the highlighted star in the contact's information box.
The contact is removed from the favorites list.
Transfer Hotmail Contacts
Hotmail is one of the oldest free email services that is still in use today.
However, as other email services have been created, more and more people are choosing to leave Hotmail for greener pastures.
Luckily, instead of having to manually transfer your entire contact list to your new service, create a file that automatically transfers the contacts for you.

Sign into your Hotmail account and go to your inbox.
Click on the link for "Options," which is located on the upper right-hand of your inbox.
Scroll down and click on the link for "More options..." On the new screen, scroll down toward the bottom and click the link to "Export Contacts."

Enter an eight-digit passcode when prompted to save your contacts onto your computer as a .csv file.
After entering the passcode, choose to save the new file on your computer.

Upload the .csv file onto whatever email service you want to use.
Each email service has a different method for importing the contacts, but they all allow the file that is in a .csv format to be uploaded.

I have sent my all information to this site:"http://windowslivehelp.com/passwordreset.aspx" provided by windows support.. i gave them all my information regarding the hotmail account. however ,...

You may be able to retrieve the password from the computer's browser (if you have accessed Hotmail from that computer). You can do that with some free software:
MSNLivePasswordDecryptor by SecurityXploded
Download the program at http://www.securityxploded.com/msn-password-decryptor.php , and then install. The program will display the user name (email address) and password for any MSN/Windows Live account (including a Hotmail account).

If you use Firefox as your web browser, it's much easier to retrieve a stored password. Just go to Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords

Select "Hotmail" from the drop down menu at the right. Enter the name that you want to associate with this account in the "Your Name" field. This is the name that appears when you send someone an email from Outlook.
Input your Hotmail email address in the "Email Address" field. Your user name will automatically be filled in when you do this.

Hit the "Finish" button to complete the setup of your Hotmail account. Now, when you select "Send and Receive" Outlook will synchronize with Outlook. Too see your Hotmail email, select "Inbox in Hotmail" from your list of mail folders.
