I had a friend of mine solder in new stk chips, now the top and bottom of the screen is bowed inward. The original chips were stk392-110s and were replaced with stk394-250s. The soldering is excellent and all transistors were checked prior to the board going back in. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Is service mode convergence done by hardware? Or can I get new chips put in to remedy the problem?

im not too sure if those are compatable chips.... if they are then at least you would have to service mode converge the set. something a tech would need to do.
