Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I`ll start by saying most of the time it is due to a faulty hot surface ignitor, but better if we get a model number first.

If that isn`t an option and yours has a broil ignitor as well as a bake...if you're mechanically inclined.

**Turn off the breaker or unplug the range and turn off the gas to the appliance before attempting any service...safety first**

if the boiler has the same ignitor ( some do some don't ) one could swap the ignitor`s ( very carefully, they are very fragile and don`t like to be handled ) this will allow you to use the bake burner, but it will leave you without the broil function...until you have a diagnosis and can purchase another.

This will confirm or dismiss if the ignitor is at fault...99% of the time this is the case.

You should be able to find one at most brick & mortar appliance parts vendors or on-line depot's such as "repairclinic.com", "searspartsdirect.com" to name a couple.

You can ask for part number 12400035, That is the most common ignitor and is for Maytag, but built by "Norton" for gas oven`s.

I would still double check with your model number with the part`s professional`s.

Hope that help`s. Let me know if I can assist you further and good luck.

Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair needs.

Thank you for the prompt reply and providing the model number.

The model indicates it is an Amana range ( which is basically a Maytag/Whirlpool as I alluded to previously ) and it does have an independent broil burner & ignitor.

The number I provided earlier will work or you can opt for the #74007498 that comes up by model number...if needed but first let`s back up again.

So my question`s are few but essential in the diagnosis from afar,

1st ) does the broil come on if selected ?

2nd ) neither bake nor broil come on ?

3rd ) Do all the surface burners ignite and does the electronic clock/timer sweem to accept all commands entered into it ?

I`ll watch for your relpy again and try to respond asap.

Replace light in KEMC378KSS microwave

The oven lights are 12-volt, 5-watt maximum halogen bulbs. They
will come on when the oven door is opened. On double oven
models, both upper and lower lights will come on when either
door is opened. The oven lights will not work during the Self-
Cleaning cycle. When the oven door is closed, press OVEN
LIGHT to turn them on or off.
To Replace:
Before replacing, make sure the oven is off and cool.
1. Disconnect power.
2. Remove glass light cover by grasping the front edge and
pulling away from oven

Why did my oven light go off and then came back on then went out again, but the bake light stayed on?

I assume you mean the internal oven light when you say 'bake' light. If so, the oven light you are referring to is the oven indicator light. When the element is receiving power the oven indicator light will be on. When it's not receiving power it will be off. The oven thermostat controls power to the element and the power cycles on and off during cooking so as to maintain the required temperature. This is a normal occurrence.

Premier 30 inch gas stove oven does not light

do you hear any clicking when you try to start the oven portion of the range? if not lets try this, open the lower drawer so you can see the burner bar and mechanism for lighting the bake bar. as your watching the mechanism turn on the oven (nothing should happen as per your issue) while oven is on try lighting one of the top burners, any one will do wanna check if that lites the spark and in turn lites the oven pilot.if that does infact work you have a bad spark switch for the oven control
