Question about Compaq FS7600 17" Flat Glass Monitor
Diblake, Lower "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" fails to light. Possible that the "electronic ballast" inverter circuit has an "open" solder joint on the printed circuit board near the leads of the high frequency ferrite transformer for the lower lamp. Or could be a failed driver transistor that drives the transformer. If not into DIY electronic investigation and soldering, then just trade for new. Else, go here http://www.lesliewony.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ and read everything there. Black screen is what you will see if your other lamp fails or the other inverter fails! Then you can spend some time reading the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" and follow links. If that's not enough, you should view some video clips at "YOUTUBE" for more info. Good luck on the quest. 12fixlouie
