Hi

You will need to remove the bottom utility drawer out of the stove and reach under the stove to unplug the power cord. Unplug the unit from the wall. Unscrew the thumb screws, check them under the cabinet. Use a screw driver and remove these. Remove these retainers that hold the cook top. Now, you can replace the burners. If not then please provide the make and model number of your Ceramic Cooktop stove.
Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

    Hi

Please check the schematic for your cook top---

Also check the wiring diagram from this---

Disconnect the Frigidaire stove power cord from the electrical outlet. You will need to remove the bottom utility drawer out of the stove and reach under the stove to unplug the power cord. Remove the burner coils from the stove top before raising the top if you have an open coil stove. Lift the coil across from where it plugs into the stove terminal and pull the coil away from the stove. Repeat for the remaining three coil elements. Open the oven door and look for two screws under the top lip of the top panel. Remove the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Grab the front corners of the top panel and raise the top panel until the support rods lock into place.

Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

Hot plate just wont turn on...switches checked in meter box and no iscolating switch. baumatic ceramic cook top. BA 13.2 ( i think) house just been sold. Hotplate wked thurs. House sold Fri. new owner...

Hello, is this a two electrical filament hot plate? Also, is this range stove/oven? I'm a little confused here on what exactly what you are referring to hot plate or cook stove with electrical burners and oven. If it a really old hot plate with one burner look at the plug there could be a fuse in it. If it is electrical range then check the control board and see they a fuse on. If not, check the voltage with a volt meter. Be very careful here there two phase that is 240 Volts AC. The voltage will be split between the two l20 hot legs AC which is 120 degrees out of phase in respect to each other; in other words, don't both of them don't let them touch each other.

If it a kitchen stove I'm fairly sure that the control board is shot and with this not operating it will not open the current/voltage relays for the electrical burners. REMEMBER YOU ARE DEALING WITH 240 VOLT AC...BE CAREFUL.... GB....stewbison

I have a whirlpool stove and one of the burner doesn't work but the light on switch works. What could be the problem and how can I fix. Help pls.

1.TURN THE POWER OFF TO YOUR STOVE! In most houses, the electric stove is on it's own circuit breaker. If you are in an older home, you're probably lucky you even have a stove...just kidding! If you had your kitchen updated, every electrician should have wired your stove to its own circuit breaker. Shut off the circuit breaker.
2.Remove all the burners and catch plates under them. You are going to lift the top of your stove up. Once you've done that, see what kind of receptacle you have. You'll now have to shop around to find the part. The local appliance store charged us way too much. Lowe's or Home Depot might not have your parts, or they might. Amazon might have your part and if they don't, they will direct you to someone that will. We could have saved half the purchase price if we'd gone there in the first place.
*A quick note* The receptacle is wired to the switches at the front of the stove. They complete the entire circuit, so that is the only thing you need to worry about--from the switch to the receptacle.
After the stove top is lifted, you will find another tray under it. If the wires from the receptacles go under the tray to the "on" switches at the front of
your stove, you'll have to lift this tray up as well. Remove the tray and any other panels you need to in order to get to the switches.
3.Follow the wires, which should be color-coded for that stove top burner, until you find the switch it hooks to. If you have not purchased the parts yet, go ahead and disconnect the wire from the switch and pull the receptacle from it's aluminum cradle. You'll want these parts to take with you to find their replacements.
*note* Your new wire receptacle should consist of the housing for the burner to fit snug into, and two wires that extend from the other end. Electricity works in a circle. If the circle is broken, you have a short and that is where the spark comes from- your electrical current was trying to reach the other side and sparked to get there.
If you do have the parts, compare them to the old ones to make sure they are the same. Nothing worse than spending time on a repair with the wrong parts.
If you have the RIGHT parts, find the correct end of your wires and just slide it over the terminal at the switch. They might be the screw types. Whatever you have, connect it. It does not matter which one went where. As long as you are using the empty wire terminals you just uncovered with the old wires, you are completing the circle.
*Note* I have seen some receptacle kits that do not give you enough wire and require you to splice wires together. Not only is that a bad idea, but does not conform to electrical codes requirements and could result in fire. If the new equipment did not come with long enough wire to reach all the way from receptacle to switch, purchase a longer wire at your local hardware store. For a few pennies more you could be saving your family's lives.
4.Once you have hooked the receptacle ends to the switch harness, tie down the wires alongside the wire bundle until you get to the end.
5.Attach your burner receptacle to the aluminum clamp.
6.Attach your aluminum clamp to the stove top.
7.Screw down all the pieces you removed- anything covering the switches and the bottom tray. Put down your stove top and put in place all the shields and burners. Turn the circuit breaker back on for your stove and try it out!8_10_2012_8_42_55_am.jpg

Tin foil was melted to the top of one of my wife's and my electric stove burner coils. I was able to remove most of the foil but there is still some stuck to the burner and will not come off from scraping...

Use a fine grit sandpaper. Don't scrub too hard, you may scrub through the heating element. Take it slow and easy -- may take a while.

I have a Whirlpool Gold Accubake Stove with ceramic top ( approx 9 yrs old) ..the dual burner (one size for smaller pots vice versa) will only heat both burners even when you only turn the smallest part of...

This is becoming a common problem. If your dual burners are controlled by the burner switch only, then you need to replace your dual burner infinite switch. Some models have a seperate rocker switch that switches from small burner to both burners. If you have this style then this is usually your problem. Can also be from shorted wiring but this is very unlikely. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

I have Amana Radar Range microwave. The repair guy was just here (fixing my real stove) and told me to change fuse to ''20 amp 250 volt fast acting ceramic fuse.'' Where is the fuse on this microwave?

first unplug your microwave and let sit for awhile to drain any stored energy that may zap you. then, if it is an "otr" there are 2 screws in the vent slats on top that you remove. once removed, you lift up on the control panel and it tilts out. voila! there is your fuse. pop it out and pop in a new one. ceramic 20 amp is correct. check your old fuse to be sure it is 20, not 15 though.

GE Spacemaker Profile X1800.

I would take out the grills and boil them, but cannot see how to do that.

Also, the GE stove top (Model JGSP44BEY) has so much baked on crud that I may never use it. I poured a whole bottle of easy off onto it and still cannot loosen it all. Same goes for the removable parts from the burners.
