Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Simple wine coolers like the Emerson pictured above do not use compressors and refrigerant, but rather a thermo-electric cooler (TEC). Since these types of devices are largely dependent on how well the heat from the hot side of the cooler is removed, if the filter on the fan becomes plugged with dust, the efficiency of the cooler degrades. Likely all that needs to be done is to clean out the filter in the back and it will probably run like new again. One positive about this style of cooler is that the TEC unit itself virtually never wears out, as it has no moving parts and runs at a fairly low voltage.

Thermostat on wine cooler

Well, I'm not sure what your actually trying to do, but the whole purpose of a wine cooler is to cool, not to freeze and the temperature should really get no colder than 34 degrees F.

What is the best temperature for white wine to be in?

It is important to keep the wine cool and in stable temperature that doesn't fluctuate very often. Bright tart white wine: 48-52 degrees; sparkling wine: 50-55 degrees and rich white wines: 58-62 degrees.

What is the temperature setting for normal wine cooling?

It's between 55 and 65 degrees fahrenheit. If you're storing a lighter red wine, you'd want to keep it on the lower end (55 degrees). And for the darker (deep) red, you'd want to keep it on the higher end (65 degrees). All white wines should be on the lower end, and below. You can drop down to 50 degrees if you'd like. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Can the U-Line 15WC Wine Captain be converted to a beer cooler? Can it be adjusted so that it gets colder?

Here is a couple of reason that answer is no. One the thermostat is designed for 45 - 60 degrees. 2 The door is only design for those temperatures as well. I believe you are going to need the bee around 34 degrees. A wine captain would never make it. Its also design for 3 different temps at once. coldest on bottom and warmest on top.
