My LG lp1010snr AC's compressor only seems to run for about 3 minutes on and 3 minutes off, is the compressor being this intermittent normal or is there a problem?

This is called short cycling and it is a problem. It sounds like the compressor is getting hot and shutting off on a thermal overload. When the overload (bi-metal contacts) cool from the compressor being off they close and the compressor begins running again. The refrigerant gas cools your compressor windings, so there may a restriction present or a leak, which would cause the compressor to get hot and open on overload. This is not good for the compressor and will eventually ruin it.

I have a 13,500 Dometic A/C that usually blows cool air but sometimes changes sounds and blows hot air for a while before switching back to cold. What do I need to fix?

Could be the compressor overload on the way out. Or an intermittant temp control. Or it might just be a loose connection at the junction box between the roof and the base.

Does it need a hose to release the hot air

Hi,
Yes, you need to have a hose on the outlet where the hot air comes out and run that out through and window or something to the outside.
If you do not do that it will not cool because you are just running the hot air back into your space that you are trying to cool.

Central Air Runs But Doesn'tAlways Cool

Yes it could be low on refrigerant. The other cause of ice-ups is poor air flow caused by a dirty filter or intermittent blower failure. If it's low on refrigerant there is a leak and it should be found first.

Carrier Air Conditioner, cool air then runs luke warm air

Have you checked the freon level in this unit? If you are low or there is a leak it could be the problem. Hope this helps.

Air Conditioner Smoke

The smoke you are seeing is the cold air turning the hot humid air into a cool mist. This may happen when you first run the a/c to cool the room. Once the room is cooled down you should not see the mist any more.
