Question about Dell 5650 Computer Speakers

Is there a way to connect my Dell MMS 5650 speakers to a Macbook Pro laptop or a wireless router? Where can I find cables for converting? Thanks!

Hello ikkenom! Thank you for responding. Forgive me for not posting enough details about my issue. My Dell MMS 5650 speakers have a built in 3-prong (1/8") input cable. My MacBook, as well as my Apple Wireless Router, only has a single output hole for speakers. 1) Would one of the MMS speaker cables (black, green or yellow) perhaps be a mono- cable? Or where can I find a cable that would convert this 3-prong to a single prong? I've been looking on the internet but without success so far. 2) Is there a driver or software download I need for my Mac to send ITunes to these speakers? Thanks again for the help!

What you need is a splitter and not an adapter. Forget the colors yellow, green, black. They are not relevant. The business end of those colors occur inside the box. Dell manufactured these "bass ackwards". You need a 3-way headphone splitter and that will solve your problem. I bought a RadioShack Headphone Splitter Cable model 42-2458. Connect cable to headphone outlet. Hope this helps.

The speakers should directly connect to the "line-out" socket on your Macbook computer, without any need for adapters.

I have _never_ seen a wireless router that had _any_ "audio" capability -- what you're asking for seems to be unreasonable.

Any "Dollar Store" or the "big-box" stores (such as Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, Future Shop, Wal-Mart) should have adapter-cables.

I've seen an adapter cable, with a "male" mini-plug (for the "line-out" from your sound-card), that connects to two (one RED, one WHITE) "male" RCA-style ("post-and-collar") jacks,

to provide "left" and "right" and "ground" signals.

    I've also seen a female-female dual-connector adapter (like two side-by-side "barrels") for RCA-style jacks.

I'm not sure what the THREE wires on the Dell speakers are designated for.

It probably seems simpler to buy new speakers.

Apple Macbook Pro does not connect to wireless network

The antennas in the Macbook Pros have had an issue with reception due to the aluminum housing of the laptop but, should still receive decent reception just not as much as a plastic Macbook or plastic PC laptop. It could be possible that the antenna's cables have become disconnected from the Airport Extreme card inside your Macbook Pro, that the card itself is faulty or damaged or that the Antennas themselves have been damaged in some way. As always make sure you have the latest updates and have installed any driver updates from Apple regarding your Airport Extreme card. Here's an article that may help eliminate any wireless interference that may be affecting your signal strength. Apple - Wireless Interference hope this helps, if so don't forget to comment, vote, etc. Thank you.

PC laptop will connect to the internet MacBook Pro Won't

Check your router's IP address from the Compaq machine. Get a command prompt and type ipconfig .all
Then wright down the IP settings.
Check the IP settings of the Macbook Pro. Adjust settings. You can give a Static IP also. If needed. But you have to set the default gateway -Enter previouse IP settings for those.
Check ur Wi-Fi settings also.

Digital Audio out in MACBOOK PRO.

Connect external speakers, headphones, or optical digital audio equipment. The headphone / line output jack accommodates optical digital audio output, analog audio output with a 24-bit, 44.1-192 kHz D/A converter, digital audio output up to 24-bit stereo and 44.1-192 kHz sampling rate and supporting encoded digital audio output (AC3 and DTS). For analog headphone / line output a standard audio cable with 3.5mm metal plug should be used. For digital audio, a standard Toslink cable with a Toslink mini-plug adapter can be used.
You can find the Digital to Analog converted:

Macbook pro only laptop in house that drops wireless connection

This sounds like an Intermittent Wireless connection problem. This is caused by cordless phones with 2.4GHz frequency. What you can do is change the Wireless Channel of your router to a different frequency/channel like channel 11, 1 or 9. Also you can try to relocate the base of your cordless phone away from the router or to a different room. In addition, you can try positioning the router to higher places like on top of cabinet or mount it on the wall..

Dell MMS 5650

you will never find a schematic for any dell part.
you can be the first to make one though.

if you know electronics then the circuit for that is one of the easiest.
having a schematic will not help you fix it.

since your looking at an item that sells for 30 to 70.00 any part in there you order will max that.

I find a signal tracer to be invaluable in troubleshooting these.
