Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Brother HL-5270DN PF Kit Problem

I found the answer in another group, from Sunshine3240:

Open the front cover and leave open while completing the following steps:
Turn the printer off.
Hold the 'go' button while turning the printer on. All panel lights should be on.
Release the 'go' button.
Press the 'go' button 2 times.
Pause.
Press the 'go' button 5 times.
The toner light should be off.
The paper light should be on.
Close cover. The ready light should be the only light on.

SOURCE: Resetting the Drum counter on a Brother HL-2040

Hi.
Have you recently replaced the drum?

  • The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.
  • The Drum LED continues to blink if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum follow the instructions below:
  1. Open the front cover of the printer.
  2. Press and hold down Go button for about 4 seconds until al the LEDs light up. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the Go button.
  3. Close the front cover.
Reset the drum counter only when you replaced the drum unit with a new one.

HL-5250 report shows fuser and laser life at 0% and PF kit 1 at 12%

The fuser is a separate component to the drum and toner in this printer. It has a much longer life than them but will run out eventually. Sadly a fuser unit is not a commercially available consumable for this printer either. I would recommend contatcing a printer technicain or Brother directly for a quote on replacing this part.

How to reset fuser on my brother HL1870?

Hi,

You can do whats called a Parts Life Reset Function.

This function is used by service specialists only when changing the periodic replacements parts to clear the life counter. To operate this function, press the "Go" and "+" switches together until the menu "RESET PARTS LIFE" appears on the LCD display. Select the required item "part name", using the "+/-" switches, then press the "Set" switch.

Your fuser error should now disappear.

Hope this helps!!!

We installed a new fuser into a Brother HL4200CN (Fuser FP-12CL) and it came up with "ID Error for Fuser" Is this a defective fuser or were we suppose to reset a code somehow? Thanks

This message appears when the printer cannot recognize the fuser - probably because you haven't reseted the counter. Make sure it's properly installed. If it is then you will need to perform the reset procedure
1. Press Additional Functions Key
2. Press # key
3. Arrow to number 7, Printer and press Set
4. Arrow to number 4, Printer Re-Set and press Set.
5. Press Yes, re-set printer (hit minus key - back arrow).
6. Unplug the machine and plug it back in.
