Hi,

With tape still in unit and battery removed, smack both sides of unit firmly 3-4 times with the heel of your hand. It works 9 out of 10 times on all the cameras

Just smack your cam up, down, and sideways and then reinsert the battery.

Goodluck..

Hello there.

I would recommend to use a head cleaner for the camera. Inside the small door is a reset button, pressing this after cleaning the head should reset everything. This should get the camera working again, please let us know how it goes.

Hope this helps.

Many users with your camera report that tapping or slapping the side of the unit will clear this error.

Can I use Hi8/Digital8 NTSC tapes in my DCR_TRV250E?If so would I be able to playback recorded tapes on the UK televisions?.

DCR-TRV250E is a PAL version camera of the Digital8 format.
Yes you can use Hi8/Digital8 NTSC tapes. The camera will record a PAL digital picture on the tapes which means that you can play back the tapes in PAL and therefore you will be able to playback recorded tapes on UK televisions because they are also of the PAL format.

I have a blue screen during playback mode on my Sony DCR-HC32. I am not able to see anything I recorded. What should I do?

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if a blue screen is displayed when attempting to playback video from the camcorder.
  1. Stop the tape.
  2. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  3. Play the tape.
  4. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
  5. Clean the video heads of the camcorder using a dry head cleaning cassette.IMPORTANT: Follow the instructions for use provided with the head cleaning cassette. It may be necessary to use the head cleaning cassette more than once per session.
  6. Reinsert the tape into the camcorder.
  7. Play the tape.
  8. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
  9. Insert a different tape with video footage into the camcorder.
  10. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  11. Play the tape.

Cannot playback hi8 ccd trv107e pal

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)
