I looked at a couple of sites and one site said two 4 ohm subwoofers. That means they have to be parallel. It didn't say about the connections. Here is a link that better describes them. They are loud.I SAID HERE IS A LINK THAT BETTER DESCRIBES THEM.LOL Good luck and rock on! Greg

How do I wire a lanzar vw10d

Subwoofer had dual 4 ohm coils.

3 solutions:

Parallel: (recommended) Wire each + and - together, then to the amp will give a 2 ohm load.

Independent: Wire each + and - to an independent channel on a 2 channel amplifier, this will be a 4 ohm load on each channel.

Series (not recommended): Wire + from one side of the woofer to - of the other side of woofer. Wire the other + and - to the amplifier to give an 8 ohm load

use a decent wire (same gauge as you would use to connect it to your amp) and connect it between the "+" pole of one coil and the "-" pole of the other coil. use the 2 other poles to connect the speaker to the amp. Have a nice day!

I have a lanzar max pro 15'' subwoofer and i need to know how to wire it. It has four wire inputs on each side teo positive and two negative, is this just to change it from 4 to 8 ohm or something?

In part yes it is a flexibility for wiring your speakers to match the impedance of your amp. For example if your subs are 2 ohm dvc by wiring them in parallel you can drop the impedance down to 1 ohm per speaker and if you connect two 1 ohm then you get 1/2 an ohm load. Or you can put them in series and increase the impedance to 8 ohms which I wouldn't suggest you do. Here is a link to wiring speakers:

How do wire my 15'' to 1ohm

If each voice coil is rated at 2-ohm, then wire it in "parallel". This will make a 1-ohm total load.

amp pos. out to coil 1 pos. to coil 2 pos.

amp neg. out to coil 1 neg. to coil 2 neg.

If the they are dual 4-ohm, the rating would be 2-ohm in parallel.

How do you wire up a dual voice coil lanzar 15 for 4 ohm?

Hello dexterchapma,

The only way to wire a single 4ohm DVC sub to present a 4ohm load is to just connect one voice coil. If you wire the coils in parallel, you get a 2ohm load. If you wire them in series, you get an 8ohm load. But it will work great with just one voice coil. Or if you really want to use both voice coils, and your amp isn't stable at 2ohms, wire the voice coils in series and present an 8ohm load to the amp. It'll work fine, it just won't deliver quite as much power.

Hope this helps.

Need amp

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

It would be safe to use an amplifier slightly lower than the maximum rating of the speaker. In this particular case, 350 watts or lower would be just about right for each. If you are wiring the 2 subs in parallel and powering them with a single channel amp, then a 700 watt bridged would also work.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

2 12" Hitron 600w subs in a BandPass box

Remember that driving a load with an underpowered amp will probably cause more problems than having a more powerful amp that is not running flat out. 200-300W amp would be ok, but I would suggest going for the biggest you can afford. If you crank up the volume on the smaller amp you will probably get a fair amount of distortion, which may actually damage the speakers. A larger amp will not give as much distortion for the same loudness/volume and give better control of the speakers for a tighter bass..
