Re: I can not get access to internet
Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.1. make sure that you are hooked up useing a cat 5 cable directly in to the router when you reconfigure your router or else it wont work then once you have the router configured, then you can connect your moden up and the route will configure the ip address from the modem, if that does not work you will have to call linksys and they will help you
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

If you are trying to gain access to it from outside of the network the local IP will not work.
Also, if you are doing port forwarding are you entering the port at the end of the IP address?
( example: 188.8.131.52:88 )
Hope that helps!

This can happen for a couple of reasons. 1. The wireless card is not working correctly either because of driver issue or it is on it's way out. 2. The security key is not being accepted.
Try resetting the router by pushing the reset button in back of the router when it is powered up. Then try connecting without any security settings. Sometimes the security settings cause problems if you use any other settings besides the WEP 64.
the easiest way to setup internet on the laptop, is to go to control panel, and launch the network setup wizard. this will enable you to setup a new network, and scan for a local area network connection. this will also give you access to the troubleshooter. to solve any connection problems or issues, should there be any. If your using a wireless method. Your PC must also be able to transmit/receive wireless Signals.
