Question about Epson Stylus CX4800 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My EPSON Stylus CX4800 has the red error light on and I can't figure out why. I was printing an 8 page document and the first 3 pages printing fine and then it stopped. Could I possibly be out of ink - how do I check the ink quantity? I have started and stopped the printer and I have taken out each ink cartridge, shaken it, and put it back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Follow these steps to check the ink:
Open a word processor or any other program that allows you to print documents.
Click the File menu of the program and click "Print" or "Page Setup."
Click the StatusMonitor icon. The icon is an image of a printer cartridge with three different colors.
Click the image of each ink cartridge to see the level of ink it has.
Click "OK" to close the window once you are finished.
as you said that you see a red light try esetting you printer
that will resolve your problem.

    Thanks for the quick response. I did what you suggested with a Word document and the Status Monitor is all "grayed" out.

    The first thing i would suggest is try reseting your printer:

    Try these step to reset your printer
    Cycle the printer's power supply. Turn the printer off for a few moments, and then turn it back on. This can help clear any data backup in the printer queue. If printing has stopped in the middle of a document, you'll have to resend the entire print job.

    Unplug the printer and manually empty the queue from your computer. If cycling the power did not fix the problem, it is possible there is a malfunction between your computer and your printer. Unplug the computer from the power outlet and disconnect it from your computer. Open the print queue by going to the Printers section of the Control Panel and double clicking on the Epson NX105. Select "Cancel All Documents" from the "Printer" menu; this will empty the queue. You can now reconnect your printer and resend the print job.

    Reset the printer software. If your printer still is not working, it is possible some settings were altered that your computer is incompatible with. From the printer queue (see Step 2), click on Properties in the Printer menu, and click on the Printing Preferences Button. Go to the Advanced tab, and click the Reset Defaults button at the bottom of the window.

    Ensure your printer is working properly by sending a test document to your printer. After Steps 1 to 3, your printer should be restored to its original factory settings. This means you may have to reconfigure any options you selected.

Epson Stylus CX4800 printing blank pages

Are you out of toner, if haven't used for awhile the heads maybe be hardened and no toner can get through. It is an inkjet after all. Epson usually has a diagnostic routine to check the problem.

Epson cx4800 ink light is on and will not print

do a powerflee

1) unplug all cables including power cable.

2) press and hold the On/Off button on the printer for 20 seconds.

3) plug back the cables and try printing.

Go to System Preferences, then Print and Fax. Highlight the printer and click (-) sign to delete printer. Then click (+), highlight the printer and click ADD. Try printing again.

My Epson Stylus CX4800 prints a test page but keeps saying "error" when I try to print anything else. It used to print, though.

you may not propely installed the driver reinstall the driver and check again if problenm is still their call the service center

I have an Epson Stylus CX4800 scanner. Problem: A 6-inch blackout occurs in the middle of the page. Will scan the outer edges of a document but the 6-inch center reflects multi-colors, but no image.

This sounds like a software problem. It might be best (and most simple) to just uninstall the epson software and then redownload and re-install it. Just log onto the Epson site and there will be helpful ideas and software there.

Gradually stopped printing, first colors, then black. New cartridges no help.

check all the catridge installed ok after finding the gatridge ok if the problem not solved , then uninstall the printer driver and restart after restarting the machine then again reinstall the printer driver properly

Will not photocopy and when I print bottom corner of page is inked

The printhead nozzles are clogged.
Reseat the cartridges. Make sure that you are using an epson genuine cartridge.
Perform head cleaning.
