There are some 3rd party softwares available. However, I would recommend that you spend bait more to buy a new pen drive that is of a higher capacity. This devices help protect sensitive files. Using softwares to expand the capacity make them vulnerable to information-theft. The pen drive is also prone to being corrupted.

How can i convert 4GB pendrive to 8GB ...?

There is no way of doing this. If your pen drive is 4GB, that means it has only 4GB of memory chips in it. The only way to get 8GB is to buy an 8GB drive. Do not buy an upgraded (to 8GB) one, as they are lower memory ones that have had the firmware tinkered with to show 8GB, when the actual memory capacity is far less.

Sorry there is no way to do this. These drives are very inexpensive. I would suggest buying a new 16gb pendrive. Check your local papers for sundays ads for a sale at your local office supply store or electronics store. thanks for using FixYa

Most of the time running a disk check first will fix your problem.

Right click on your drive's icon in "My computer"

Select properties. Go to the "tools" tab, select "check for errors".

Depending on the operating system you use, this could also be called "run scan disk", "run disk check" or "check for errors".

I have an 8GB pendrive,when i format it,it shows write protected

Try a different software to format the pendrive. I uploaded a 3rd party software that will help you format the pendrive.
Connect the pendrive to the computer and after that run the software and format it.
Here is the link: http://depositfiles.com/files/ngsg4oyf1 .

I scanned with Panda antivirus and Kasperky.

If you need further assistance please post.
Thank you
