Want to use black color

I have a Canon IP1600. I dont use colour. I only want to use black. I set the option to BLACK ONLY. but it refuses to print saying colour ink is low. I dont even use colour. How do i fix this ?

In the printer dialogue box that pops up after giving File > Print command, you should see a "properties" or "advanced". Go to the 'Colour' tab. Here you should see an entry that says "print in grey scale". Select this ( this can vary depending upon your model of printer and the software installed). Now all your documents will only print with the black ink cartridge.
