Hi, you can't tune these, so if its not running smoothly, check air filter, clean and replace. Check spark plug, clean if necessary and replace. If problem persists it could be dirt in the carbretta, so flush this out with clean fuel, after this, drain fuel tank and replace with fresh fuel, ensure you have the correct mix of fuel.
Hope this helps

My Echo CS 3400 chain saw has an air vent problem

Most handheld power tools have a tank vent that will hold some pressure, Don't quote me. But If I turn the saw sideways and the vent allowed fuel to drain out THIS WOULD CREATE A FIRE HAZARD. If the fuel is boiling when you open the fuel cap could this be a engine temperature problem? or low octane fuel.

Brand new Echo cs-400 chain saw: The chain spins fast on idle. Should'nt the chain be stationary on idle?

The manual is available here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/ECHO/CS-400-_E

The idle speed of the negine may be too high.
Page 26 of the manual gives instructions for adjusting the speed with the "T" screw on the carburettor.

Echo cs-3400 wont start . no spark. what are the primary and secondary coil readings?

if you have no spark

check for faulty plug 1st, then pull kill wire off at kill switch, then check for grounding ht lead ,
then pull kill wire off at armature , if still no spark most likley faulty ignition armature
i suspect the part number you need if its type 1 is 15662639130
replace it and set air gap and reassemble and test

here is web site for parts

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/echo-cs3400-type-chainsaw-parts-c-35043_35970_36021.html

or you could try www.partstree.com , go to echo saws , then find your model

cheers hope it helps

How do you adjust high, low, and throttle on echo 3400 chainsaw

Ok, this is an easy job, and a quick tune up. First start up your saw, rev it some so it warms up. Next, make sure your saw idles, if not just turn up the idle a bit first before this. With your saw idling on the ground, turn the L screw about 1 turn either side of where it is, and listen to obtain the fastest and smoothest idle, that takes care of the L screw. Now the H screw must be adjusted while the the saw is at full throttle, turn the H screw and listen for maximum and smoothest engine speed. I sugest this be done with the chain and bar removed from the saw. After you adjust the L and H, then adjust idle to suit.

How to install bar and chain on cs 310 echo

A CS-310 OM follows:
http://www.echo-usa.com/pdf/documentation/CS310es1112_042310.pdf
There is a very good, model specific, procedure beginning on page 12.

There are 2 listed based on serial number I think, you can download the other and an IPL here:
EchoUSA
http://www.echo-usa.com/documentation.asp
If your saw is not listed type "CS" in the “Model:” window, click "Search" and select your saw from the list provided.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.
