The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer.

Having gone over a month without a response, I assume my suggestion about using a card reader solved the problem.

We have a laptop Windows 7 installed. Will the Nikon Coolpix L15 be compatable with this computer?. Instructions say x2000 and Windows XP. Thanks, Vinita Tarr

Yes, it is. Simply plug it in and Win7 will set it up. Both 32 bit and 64 bit Win7 work with this camera.

Question on software for camera that is adaptable with vista

There should be no difference in the performance on the camera and the opperating system you use. My suggestion would be to go on to casio's website and see if there are any software/firmware upgrades available for the EX-S600. To avoid this problem in the future you may want to bypass casio's software and just use the camera as a removable drive. To do this you would connect the camera as you normally do, press the usb button, and then in windows go to 'computer', formerly 'my computer' in xp, and under 'devices with removable storage' the camera should come up. just click and drag the images/folders you want onto your computer to transfer the images.
