My Vizio 42 inch is 6 months old and the screen turns off by itself (black screen) about every 5-10 minutes but the sound remains on! I can shut it off and turn it back on and it happens again 5-10 minutes later. IT's driving me insane! Is there some sort of timer on? Or is there an internal issue?

My Vizio L32 goes on and off about every 3 seconds. The power on light remains green during this cycling. I've unplugged all inputs and it continues to do this.

I had the same problem with my 32", eventually the power board assy. went bad. you can go to vance-baldwin.com or partstore.com and order the new power board for $80 wich includes a $15 core charge. It is a very easy part to replace, works good now.

I've got the same problem. I think we got what we paid for. It's either a power supply (internal) problem or an internal electronic board problem. Either way, Visio charges around $300 for the repair. I'd just save the $300 and put it toward a TV not sold at walmart.

The problem is that some Capacitors of the power printed circuit has gone off. You should give your TV to an expert near by you to change them. I'm sure that this is the only problem and the cost is cheap. Please Rate my solution! Thanks!

Tv turns on by itself

Unusual. most likely reason is a failure of the standby management chip which is a component of the sets power supply board, they usually blow up rather than initiate uncalled starts though. This needs examining by someone who has experience with flat screens. If you were to look at vizio l32 psu on google, you'd see why.

Vizio L32 stopped working.

I have seen this many times. The tv most likely has run its course. It could be the power supply or a lamp. Sounds more like a lamp, as you still have lights on your set. check around and get some prices on a lamp. you can have a local shop install it for you. or just replace the set.

My tv won't turn on. The orange light is on - will not turn green and go on. Have tried disconnecting from power, using remote, manually hitting on button. Vizio L32 hdtv10a

Look at the power supply, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Please post back what you find.
I have the same model for my bed room, my power supply blew up beyond repair, had to buy a used one, now the LCD controller board is going bad when it gets hot. Not a very good TV.

Vizio L32 TV won't turn on. yellow power light lit, should turn to green when button or remote is pressed, and set should come on. No response to either remote or manual buttons. No change after unplugging...

Had same prob;em. Replace main board and now works just fine. You need to take the back off and under the metal cover is the main board. The part number should start with 3320-xxxx-xxxx. You can purchase the board from Vance Baldwin. vancebaldwin.com sign in as a guest. I will warn you the cost of the board is high.

POWER SUPPLY OR LCD PANEL INVERTER BOARDS . AVAILABLE THROUGH VIZIO , PARTSTORE.COM OR EBAY

No Power

It appears that the power supply is starting to fail. It is also possible that there is another board in the set that is over-loading the supply.

The nature of the fault indicates the strong possibility that there are some parts that have become thermo sensitive. This is not a reset problem going by your description. Unplugging the set, is allowing the boards to cool down, and therefore they will work for a while until the thermo sensitive parts heat up again.
