Question about Canon iR 1600 Laser Photo Printer
The main thermistor reading does not reach 40ºC 14 sec after the fixing
heater goes ON. (fixing low temperature error).
First you need to try reset the error code and the procedure for that is:
SERVICE MODE entry: MENU and #
If E000 through E004 is indicated, the RAM on the image processor will
retain the error memory of the fixing assembly after the power switch has
been turned off an then on. Execute the following in service mode, and turn
off and then on the power switch to clear the memory: #7 PRINTER>#4
If the error is still present after clearing, you need to dismantle fixing unit and check with universal voltmeter the lamp, by putting the DVM to buzzer mode and each ends of dvm probes put on ends of lamp, if it buzzs that means that there is connection and lamp is OK, so you need to focuse on thermistors and thermofuses or ... call service.
Hope that helps!
