If you have a microSD card installed, remove it. Press and hold the power button for fifteen seconds before releasing it. Does this do anything?

  • 1 Insert your SanDisk 8GB memory card into a card reader connected to your computer.
  • 2 Double-click "Macintosh HD" on your desktop.
  • 3 Click on the "Applications" folder, then the "Utilities" folder.
4 Double-click "Disk Utility". Look on the left side to locate the drive that says "SanDisk.
5 Select the capacity of the drive on the left side of the window. The capacity will state "8GB" or "8,388,608 kilobytes." Click on the "Erase" tab to format the memory card. When you see "SanDisk" listed as the device's name, the capacity will be located above. You need to select the capacity and not the device.
6 Select the appropriate "Volume Format." Under the "Volume Format" button, select the format you wish to use. Select "Mac OS Extended" if the SanDisk 8GB will only be used on Macs, or "MS-DOS (FAT)" if you will share the card between a Mac and PC. Select "Erase" to complete the format of your SanDisk 8GB memory card.

How do I know the sandisk is fully charged

I just bought a Sansa 8GB Clip, when the battery is completely charged the yellow battery icon (at the top right of the screen, to the right of "Connected") stays solid and is not animated, with the center horizontal bar completely filling the inner section of the icon. While it is charging the center horizontal bar is animated and slides from right to left. At no time does my battery icon turn green.

I have a 8gb sansa view and up until 2 days ago it would come on

Recovery for the Sansa View is described on the Sandisk site in 3 steps:

    1. Reset the device:
    http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/188
The reset is meant for switching the player off completely, before going to the recovery mode.
    2. Force recovery mode:
    http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/197
Recovery mode is meant for recognizing the player on the computer and making backups of files from player to the computer, before clearing the device while updating it to the latest firmware.
    3. Update to the latest firmware:
    http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/304
Updating the firmware is meant for completely erasing the players' drive and putting new software on it back again.

As you follow the instructions of the last step you'll require the "Sansa Firmware Updater".
It can be downloaded with the next link:
