Did you mean fried the Microwave? Yes if the timing had been too much with no heating left... no conduction of food or moisture... then the Magnetron could be damaged. If you do not see any blacking in the area inside where the magnetron is fitted, the it is possible that a fuse had blown, open covers and check on the fuse line from the transformer.
But if there is blacking inside, the magnetron could be damaged, but try to clean well inside and remount the unit after wiping off all carbon. Fit back and hope it works.
Hope this helps. Good day

The colon between the numbers on the clock, example 8:00 won't stop blinking even after I set the clock and hit the clock button again.

Sometimes the correct procedure for setting the clock is to press the CLOCK or TIME OF DAY button, then enter the time on the keyboard, then press the START button instead.

Otherwise, as long as you can enter a cooking time and your oven operates normally, then don't worry about it. On some models it is normal for the colon on the clock display to blink all the time.

Good luck.

I have a Hamilton Beach 0.9 Cubic Feet 900-Watts Digital Microwave Oven and I can not find out how to change the power setting for cooking.

Assuming its the same as my Hamilton Beach, you first enter the cooking time, but don't press start yet, instead press power, then a number button 1 - 9 for the power level 1 for 10%, 2 for 20% etc. THEN press start as normal

I have Emerson Microwave #mw8999sv which has the Express Cook option- cooking 1 - 6 minutes. How do I cook for 1 minute 30 seconds, etc.? Thank you.

The owner's manual is here. On page 10 we find:

COOKING IN ONE STAGE
1. Press the POWER button; the Microwave and High
Cook indicators will light and “PL 10” will light in the
display.
2. Press the POWER button different times to set the
desired power; the display will show the percentage
you chose. If selecting power level 70%-10%, the
Low Cook indicator will light instead of the High
Cook indicator.
3. Press number keys to set the desired cooking time.
OPERATION(CONTINUED)
4. Press the START/+30SEC. button to start cooking;
the Microwave and one of the Cook indicators will
blink and the display will countdown the remaining
cooking time in minutes and seconds. It will beep
five times when cooking is completed.

My mother just bought an Emerson MW8119 Microwave and can't figure out how to only set say 15 seconds cook time. Is it possible?

Hi! I just purchased the same microwave, and came online to find the solution. I was then able to find the correct answer to this problem. On this model, Emerson does not put a "time cook" button for odd cook times such as 15 seconds. Instead, they have you push the "Power Button" prior to setting the cook time.

If you want to cook on full power, press the power button once, and then enter your cooking time and press start. If you want to cook on 50% power or 30% power or something like that, push the "Power Button" several times until the appropriate power level is displayed, then enter the cook time and press start.

The reason that it starts up right away when *********** pushes the 1 button is because Emerson has the quick cooking feature for 1 minute through 6 minutes. You only have to push the number once to get the 1 minute cook time or anywhere through 6 minutes respectively.

Hope this helps!

Help please

Are you saying that it will stop cooking after 59 seconds, but it will resume cooking if you press Start again?

(If not, please reply back and clarify)

If so, this is a problem in one of the damper-related components, most likely the switch, but it may also be the motor or the damper door.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Sharp models stop after 59 seconds.

See the attached sample photo for a typical damper assembly.
