Monitor Randomly Turns Black

Randomly, my Benq monitor's screen, which is working just fine will just dim in brightness and turn to black. The power button is lit up blue, not orange, so I know it didn't fall asleep, and nothing I do fixes this, until I turn the monitor off and wait for a while and turn it back on. Turning it off and on immediately only results in receiving the BenQ slogan for a short time, and then the screen turning black again. At first I had thought the problem due to possible overheating, but after leaving the monitor off for approximately eight hours (before any problem arose), and returned, the monitor operated fine for about five minutes before reverting back to that wonderful black screen. Is there any way to fix this?

When i press the power switch of the monitor, the button lit blue as per normal, however the image shown lasted less thn 1 second and the screen went black. The button did not turn orange hence it's not sleeping for sure.

I press the switch twice to off it and turn it on again, the same thing occurs.

I'm at a loss. I checked the warranty period and mine has just passed the 3 years mark.

I have exactly the same problem with my Benq FP71E+ ..

What i found is a temp fix is this :

When monitor dims and goes black i turn it off , hit the bottom left side (near the BENQ logo) turn it on again and it works ..

This works every time for me . But after a while it switches off again , could be 5 minutes could be 5 hours . Its random

victorash02, Is screen black n blank, or just black? Do flashlight test! Yes it could be both! Most likely problem with unit's internal "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter supply". You or technician will need to investigate for probable cause of black screen of death. Need a little history of unit! Did it work just fine 2 weeks ago? How many "ON" hours of use on the unit? When was it made? Did you PROVE that PC not cause and works ok? Get back here with more info so we can help.

BenQ fp737 monitor

Disconnect the signal cable from CPU and power on.You should get a BenQ Blue screen.
If no Display,Problem is definitely monitor related ie monitor has a hardware defect most probably the power/invertor board has a few blown components.
If you are technically able, you can dismantle monitor and check components on the Invertor board which you may find on my other posts.
Please reply if you need more help. Please rate this solution.
Thanks.

Monitor black screen

Your first step in troubleshooting this problem is to plug in another monitor to your computer. If you are having the same problem it is related to your computer. If the second monitor works fine then your original monitor is shot.
