The WEP Key is the key one sets in the Router when one set the security, it is a number and it must be entered into the correct field, when attempting to logon and connect to a secured network.
Either set your router to Unsecured. The one doesn't need a Key.
Or re-setup your router, by loging into the router from your web browser typing in it's address, and set it up again, and this time note down the Key you set, usually it is best to copy past it to a notepad document, as it is a very long number, then when asked you can type enter it into the required field, and then you should be able to logon.
You need to consult your routers manual, to see how to do this.

We are trying to sign on to our home network but the WEP key, after entering, keeps saying settings are invalid. What exactly is the WEP key? What do we need to do?

Are you trying to connect to your internet connection for wireless? If it is, the WEP key is the password that you set up for your wireless device so that devices that can see the your wireless network will be able to connect by entering the right WEP key. If you didnt change the WEP key of your modem or router, then the default WEP key will be found at the back of your device, but if you had changed it before then, that's the WEP key that you need to enter.

Everytime I try to connect the internet to my dsi it dosn't let me and i never ever get any signal its always red and when it dosn't connect it says to visit support.nintendo.com and it also says...

Turn on the Nintendo DSi then Click on the wrench icon to access "System Settings." Select "Internet" on the third page of System Settings. Select "Connection Settings" and tap the "None" bar in "Connection 1." You have the option of setting up a connection manually, or searching for available connections in the area. The easiest thing to do is select "Search for an Access Point." Your Nintendo DSi will list the names of any wireless access points in range. A gold, unlocked icon next to the connection's name signifies an unlocked WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) connection that can be accessed immediately. A locked gold icon signifies an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key (password).
If you are accessing a locked/encrypted connection, enter your WEP key. You may also click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) key. If your WEP key is correct, your Nintendo DSi should connect. You can test your connection to verify. You're set! Now you can surf the Internet, purchase games and add-ons in the Nintendo DSi Shop, and play games that allow wireless access and competition (with WEP connections, only).
Note Most Nintendo DS and DSi owners can get online by searching for an access point, but some might have to resort to manual setup. The Nintendo DSi can go online with a WPA connection, but actually playing DSi games online requires a WEP connection.

I want product key of assassins creed 2

Hi chetandrs288!

Sadly we can't offer videogame keys since they're unique to each retail copy. The only way to get a valid product key for the game is by purchasing the retail copy phisically via videogame retailers or online via Steam or the EA store.

I regret to inform you that i can't be of further assistance on this issue.

I have my wep key, 11 characters, and internet at my own house. problem is: my psp says its invalid and it wont go in. im really lost and not sure what to do. hexadecimal what?

Hi, the WEP key you have should be incorrect, WEP keys have to be 10 characters, 26 characters or 58 characters.
Also, make sure you have entered your key correctly, when hexadecimal warning comes up it usually means that you have entered a character that is not A,B,C,D,E,F or 0-9.

Not able to connect the sons Nitendo DSi to the internet. They are asking for the WEP Key but on my home hub there is only a WPA Key. BT have told me to connect to you to ask for support.

If your using WPA and your Nintendo DS only supports WEP Encryption theres no way you can connect it to the internet. WEP encryption is different from WPA.

WEP key uses hexadecimal - using characters 0-9, A-F or ASCII format. The ASCII format is easier to remember. The ASCII string is converted to HEX over the network.

Example of WEP key encryption are:

*64-bit hexadecimal keys are exactly 10 characters in length. (12345678FA is a valid string of 10 characters for 64-bit encryption.)
*128-bit hexadecimal keys are exactly 26 characters in length. (456FBCDF123400122225271730 is a valid string of 26 characters for 128-bit encryption.)
*64-bit ASCII keys are exactly 5 characters in length (DMODE is a valid string of 5 characters for 64-bit encryption.)
*128-bit ASCII keys are exactly 13 characters in length (2002HALOSWIN1 is a valid string of 13 characters for 128-bit encryption.)

WPA Key is entered as a pass phrase between 8 to 63 alphanumeric characters in the ASCII format at both ends of the wireless connection. Although PSK accepts a minimum of eight characters, for proper security, it is a good idea to use ample length and should not use a commonly known phrase. This phrase is used to generate session keys that are unique for each wireless client.

To resolved the issue you have an option to change the WirelessSettings on your router to WEP instead of WPA since WEP is also a secured netwrok. however you need to keep in mind that if you change the encryption you need to configure all othere device connected to the router via WPA and change the settings to WEP.

Connects to Access Point but the internet cannot be found

The main reason why you have this error message because your computer is not getting a valid IP address from teh wireless network, and the reason why its not getting a valid IP address is the wireless security or sometimes called WEP/WPA kay are not type in to the correct place, If you have a WEP enable on your wireless network you will have two option on the Linksys WLAN monitor where you can type in teh security key, you will see two boxes there when you try to connect to the secured network one says Passohrase and one says WEP key1 and if yuo have a wireless key that has a total of 10 or 26 key character you need to type that on the WEP key1 box leave the passphrase blank...But if it still didn't work you can contact this number for help 1-877-787-8749....
