Is it plugged in or running of of battery?
Is there a light on the power adapter?
Does hte laptop show any response to the power a charge light or any lights indicating it is starting up?

ApprenticeI have a similar issue and when I followed your advice of removing the battery & power adapter, holding down the power button and then re-trying it worked. Would you mind explaining what "Discharging the laptop" means?
(I bought my Averetac laptop off ebay and this is the 2nd time in a month that it wouldn't power up. The light shows that it the battery is recieving a charge fromthe power cord but it simply won't turn on) Your time and info would be greatly apprecieated!!
