Yes, you can obtain a drum and install it yourself. You can find either a Brother brand drum or order aftermarket drums from other places. A Drum is good for 25,000 pages, and a catridge is good for about 7000 pages, depending on whether it is high-yield or not.
The drum must be replaced after printing 25,000 pages. So refer to the manual, order one or go purchase one in the store and you can replace it yourself.

Sure you can. Refer to your owner´s manual, buy the drum (probably will need to change the tonner cartridge too) and replace them.
