Question about Pelco DF5UY 0V21A Domepak In Ceiling Smoked Color 2.8 12MM Ai

2 Answers

Camera picture Picture appears to have a 'wavy' distortion for a few seconds, like the view of an object in the distance on a hot day; then the whole picture goes the way of the old TV 'horizontal-hold' problem...then comes back wavy, and then horizontal craziness again. The camera is getting a strong 26-27vdc; and the picture is fine at the camera, viewed through a portable monitor.

Hello there. I have the same Wavy Picture problem with one of our Esprit Pelco Camera. Would it have to do with the power supply? or with the cables? Please help me. Thanks.

The camera is long gone, replaced with another camera...but I believe the one giving me the problem was a board-camera, model IS90-CHV9. No problems with the new one (non-dome); a SONY, Digital Hyper-Had fixed camera. Appears that the original camera was just begining to 'fail'.
Thanks for the input though....

Let me preface this by my expertise with Pelco Products.....I have been working for Pelco for over 8 years now......So I need to know what the model number of the camera in you DF5 dome is because that Dome Pack number is not a valid part number....Here is how that part number brakes down...the DF5 tells me its a DF5 Dome and the UY is the section of that part number that doesn’t make sense...its not a valid number it should be either a CA ,MA or CC and the 0V21A tells me that it has a smoked bubble with the 13VD2.8-12 vari-focal Auto iris lens...... On a different note we do not make a fixed camera that will fit in a DF5 Dome that can take up to 26-27VDC (Direct Current) So if you are using 26-27 VDC you might have damaged the camera try a 24VAC transformer instead.....Good Luck and the more information you can give to me about the camera that is in the Dome the better.....let me know if this helped..

The picture appears like a 3D picture with shadows. Usually tripled, and colors are strange. Peoples skin appears orange'ish-red, and white appears greenish...almost like holograms.

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded over.

Wavy picture on top and bottom

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

First of all, if you're still under warranty no use trying solutions that might be only temporary, go complain. Since you have normality relapses, it sounds like its something a reset could fix. Follow the instructions in your manual on how to perform a full reset, in case you no longer have the manual i'll attach that part of it to my post(just from a slightly different camera, if you have a digital manual for the 402 please post it). Now, if that doesn't work, i would suggest you try resetting the good old way - take out all batteries, disconnect all cables, and make sure the camera just lies there taking it easy for a few days, then try again. No go? it might be a problem with the memory card, try replacing. If you don't have one available try going to a repair shop/retailer and ask for one of their cards just to test it as a last resort before sending it for repair. Good luck
