More than likely you have a bad fuser gear. It will break teeth, crack and not drive or the tab that inserts on the roller to drive it has snapped.
You have to remove the back cover to unplug the fuser then there are 2 screws that hold it into the frame.
The gear is on the right side of the fuser.
The price of the gear is less then 20 dollars.

Causes for paper jams in Printers are given below:

* Dust or debris
* Rotating drum problem
* Toner or fuser complaint

Dust or debris

One of the main causes for paper jams is the presence of dirt, dust, or debris in your toner cartridge. The paper coming into the cartridge would get stuck. So clean your printer regularly. Remove the dust from the printer. Also find out whether any jams occurred in the sensor hole in the upper part of the rotating drum. Do not touch the roller while cleaning. If the oil in your body gets into the roller, the printing media cannot roll over it properly and you can't get rid of the printer problem.

Rotating drum problem

If there is no direct symptom of paper jam and still you cannot do printing properly, find whether it is because of drum problem. If the paper gets into the end gear of the rotating drum and gets stuck there, you cannot access the printing function. Switch off your printer and check the plastic arms of the printer drum. If there is any paper piece jammed in any of the arms, you can't continue printing. Here also cleaning is the best method to solve the problem. While cleaning, check the arms of the rotating drum.

Toner or fuser complaint

Toner complaint may also cause paper jams. It can be solved only by replacing it. When you switch on the loop back plug in, two flash lights appear; then it indicates paper jam. The oil spillage in toner can cause this problem. If the toner cartridge is not functioning properly, the same problem would be the result. The diodes or transistors in the fuser unit of the printer may get damaged and this can lead to fuser complaints. To solve this problem, you should replace it.

How to open drum to remove the jammed paper inside

Hi Good day!! here are the steps how to remove paper jam in brother hope it help's you!!
1. Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.
2. Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer.
3. Press the cover release button and then open the front cover.
4. Pull out the drum unit assembly. Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer. If you cannot remove the drum unit assembly easily at this time, do not use extra force. Instead, pull the edge of the jammed paper from the paper tray. If the jammed paper can not be pulled out easily, turn the jam dial towards you as you gently pull the paper out.
5. Open the face-up output tray. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit. If the paper jam can be cleared.
6. Open the jam clear cover. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit.
7. Close the jam clear cover. Close the face-up output tray. If the paper jam still cannot be cleared, for HL-5130 and HL-5140 users go to Step 10, and for all other users go to the next step.
8. Pull the Duplex Tray completely out of the printer.
9. Pull the jammed paper out of the printer or the Duplex tray. Put the Duplex tray back into the printer.
10. Push the lock lever down and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit assembly. Take out the jammed paper if there is any inside the drum unit.
11. Put the toner cartridge into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If you put it in properly, the lock lever will lift automatically.
12. Put the drum unit assembly back in the printer.
13. Put the paper tray in the printer.
14. Close the front cover.

Keeps Jamming

It may be a Fuser problem:

start a print from tray 1/manual feed and just as the trailing edge of paper is entering the machine; quickly open it to stop print and take out the cartridge and look at it's drum and the paper underneath. If the issue is there at that point then it would point to the cartridge. if not then the fuser

Media jam "fuser'

You need to clear any paper that is jammed inside. Then if you get the message after you clear the paper, check to see if it is a fuser problem.
Fuser problem:

Toshiba 2060 jams (accordion/fans the paper) at the fuser unit. Torn Paper now stuck next to the roller/drum and now jams every time. How do I remove the torn bits of paper to keep it from jamming?

sounds like a broken fuser drive gear.The fuser operates a nearly 400 degrees Fahrenheit and the drive gear cracks and falls off.Lots of trouble for a 50 cent gear.They are mad of fiber or plastic.take a few of the covers off near the fuser and disconnect the cables and the fuser slides out

Paper Jam

Some basic non-tech questions:
  • Are you using paper that's been allowed to sit open for weeks? It might have absorbed water.
  • Are you in the habit of reusing paper that's double-fed? I used to, but it's more likely to jam
  • When was the last time the technician was in to do a preventive maintenance? The machine may need a basic clean-and-check.
  • Check your manual, and check what the machine is telling you (on the display, if it has one). The location of the jam may give you an idea of the reason for the jam (jamming at the fuser may indicate a cold fuser, jamming at the drum can be caused by broken separation fingers, etc.) If you have a technician, this will be useful information.

Brother hl-2070n; Paper jams half way through drum unit.

Usually there is a sensor right before the paper enters the fuser. If the paper sensor is bad the machine will stop feeding and output the error paper jam. This is probably the cuase if the paper stops in the same position all the time.
