I have a Sony Xplod 800w Amp running a 10' Sony Xplod Amp....i unhooked the amp to do some moving and i tried to put it back in today and it didnt have any sound coming from it! I did notice the power...

it sounds like it could be a blown channel in the amp. if the sub was blown it would still work just sound horrible. i have blown many subs and amps. you can bring it to an audio shop near you and they can fix it. i just got one of my channels fixed for 35$

I have a jl 1000/1 amp hooke up to 2 12 w6 subs and when i turn the volume up half way the speakers cut out and amp stops working but i turn the volume back down and it works fine. what could this be?...

what is happening is the amp is going into protect mode because it most likely is at the wrong oms and is getting over loaded and shutting itself down to protect it self!

do you know what ohm load you are presenting to the amp? or what ohm are the subs ?

if you correct the ohm load it will fix your issue and make the system sound way better! let me know if you have any more question and let me know about the ohms! good luck

I have a 1000w amp but it got burned why??

Hello,

I'm sorry but your problem was a little confusing. Your speakers worked fine, you hooked up a 1000W amp and now you cant hear the sound ?

Then you say "they say because the wires were connected wrong in the amp it burned" does that mean your amp burnt out ?

Please post back and sort these facts out for further assistance.
As of right now im not sure if the problem is with the speakers or the amp itself.

How to convert from 4 ohm to 2 ohm car amplifier

All amplifiers are rated by the manufacturer as to the minimum impedance they can be wired to and still operate effectively (or at all).
All amplifiers are different - and there are some not stable at 2 ohms.

In theory - you are changing the amplifiers LOAD - not the amplifiers ability to withstand a lower impedance.

An amplifier that is wired at a 4 ohm load will have approximately HALF the power of the same one wired at a 2 ohm load.

If you post your amplifier make/model I can tell you the spec's.
If you're wondering what voicecoil wiring configurations will give you a 2 Ohm load... I can help with that as well - Simply post your make/model of the subwoofers.

How do i fixed my over powed Lightning Audio amp,b150.2

Thanks for being honest, that's rare. It would cost more to repair it that get a new one, I'm sure of that. For the price, look for a good used amp on ebay. I am a little older now but used to do competition stuff 10 years ago. I don't need to have something new and shiny out of a box and have just as killer of a system as always but for about 1/4th the price! You can tell by how people describe their equipment wether or not you are dealing with an audiophile or not. If not, stay away!

Can I fix a fried amp?

Hi, how good are you with electronics? Are you able to open up the amp and see any obvious problems? I suggest that if your not very good with electronic circuits, get a professional to have a look at it, as if you damage it more by trying to fix it your self, it will probably cost you more to fix it. It may be as simple as an earth track been burnt, but even that in most cases will force you to completely disassemble the amp to find the problem. It may also be the diode right next to the power supply terminals that may be damaged and in some cases that can cause problems. Let me know if you open the amp, if possible post some pics and will see if there is something obvious that stands out. Cheers
