Question about Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1" LCD Monitor
I have been happily using my Dell UltraSharp 2001 FP 20.1" monitor since September, 2004 when I purchased it. Recently the DVI input stopped working on me - I just get a black screen. I have tried a different video card and a different video cable and I am 99% sure that the problem is in the monitor itself. Any thoughts on repairing that? Where I could send it to be repaired? Could I fix this myself with an off-the-shelf part? Thanks!
Have you contacted Dell? I am sure the warranty is gone but they might try to help. You can take it to a T.V. shop and have them check it. Sometimes a repair cost more than a monitor though. Acer has the best monitor that I have seen. I put some to a test at Staples and Acer was the only one that could stay working at a high resolution. Strange because Acer is usually ****. Good luck. Sorry I could not give you a better answer. I hope that I put you on the right track though. Does that monitor have a VGA connection on it that you can use. Some have both. Maybe you can get an adapter for your video card. Most cards come with one.
