Since the battery can nor be changed or replaced, your only option is to send it in for repair if under 1 year

Why does my tom tom keep going the shut down page every 10 seconds I have pressed reset but makes no difference I ride bmw r1200rt

One possible cause is that your battery is low or the battery can no longer hold a (good) charge. In this case, the TomTom is shutting down because there's not enough battery to keep it running, even though it is plugged into a power source.

To determine if the battery is the cause, try to charge the TomTom battery .... using a (USB) connection to your computer, or a direct power source (i.e. while the TomTom is not being used). Let it charge for a few hours until the batter charge indicator shows that it is fully charged (or just leave it charging overnight).
Then, unplug the TomTom from the "charger" and power it up. If the TomTom (battery) doesn't hold a (good) charge, the device will shut down within a few minutes, e.g. 10 mins or much less.
When you (then) plug the device into a power source, and it doesn't stay on (i.e. it keeps shutting down after 10 seconds), you can safely conclude that the battery is the cause of your problem.

My Tomtom 300 Go won't charge?

It appears that the battery will not hold a (good) charge anymore. If it is still under warranty, contact TomTom to address that problem. They may replace the unit for you.
It is not unusual for (rechargeable) batteries to loose it's capability to hold a good charge if it is plugged in (to a power source) all the time, even while it is not in use.

My tomtom won"t turn on

If you have a tom tom from the GO models
they hace a reset button you can press with a pin were the mount fits.
When you plug in the charger the green light should come on to say it is chargeing.
Try the car adapter to charge the tom tom

Tom Tom won't charge

double check the connection. I had this with a one xl and it turned out to be a small bit of debris that had gotten into the car charger and stuck there so that even the home charger would not help.

I used a compressed air can for computers to blow it out..
also get a magnifying glass and check the connector strips inside the connector.

If you see damage it will probably have to got in for repair

WILL NOT TURN ON

I had the same problem and discovered that the unit would not turm on even having been charged at home, the problem I found was that the unit was not charging from the mains charger for what ever reason but when placed back in my car hey presto (youll have to go for a reasonable journey to charge the internal battery up though) Hope this helps

Thanks for the input.

hi, Check the photo below to see if your plastic lugs are in good condition . If they look OK then it is possible you have a bad contact to the pins or maybe even a bent pin. be careful though as the contacts are very easily damaged if you go prodding around.

You can replace it yourself if you have some experience with dismantling electronic equipment. Unfortunately it is not an easy operation though. The main tools you need are a small star-shaped screwdriver and a soldering iron.

My daughter had this problem and it actually turned out to be the cigarette lighter connection. The fuse needed changing and bingo all working well now! Check you have a green light on the charger cable going into your cigarette lighter - if you dont its probably the fuse.
