1. If you have enabled AutoSync, everytime the iPod is connected, the iPod will sync all your files. It is not only the songs that are copied. It also copies the videos, photos and contacts too. Maybe it was trying to sync them.

2. Even if it had really done with sync of all songs, video, photos and contacts, it will always show the message "Do not disconnect". What you will have to do is click on the eject button in the iPod icon which appears in iTunes. The iPod will be ejected only when you eject it from the iTunes.

On my Ipod it says "Do not disconnect" it wont get clear off the screen

Try a reset and see if it clears off the screen. It should but it may also be a software glitch. Try the reset from the video below and then connect to iTunes and do a restore if it is possible.

That is supposed to happen. You simply hit eject button in itunes (this can be located to the right of your ipod in the list containing (library, podcasts, etc.) It looks like an eject button on a vcr.

How to unlock it with no password

Hehe, calm down. First off, Google might be of use to you for further problems, before coming here.

But for now, here is how to solve this problem : )

Connect your Ipod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one the iPod was synced with), and open Itunes. When you disconnect the iPod from the computer, if will no longer be locked.

Ifyou can't unlock the iPod using either the code or connecting it to thecomputer you use to manage its songs, you can restore your iPod tothe factory settings using the iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can resync all of the data from your computer back onto the Ipod.

Switching off ipod video 80Gb

The "Do Not Disconnect" message will persist until the the iPod is fully charged. Even after this, the message will still persist - it just does this by default. As long as the spinning wheel in the far upper left-hand corner of your iPod screen no longer appears, the sync has been complete - as soon as it is fully charged, safely remove the hardware on your Windows desktop (or use the Eject button in iTunes - or both), and remove the iPod from your PC.

Apple iPod Video 30 GB

Hi,
iPods always say 'do not disconnect' when you connect it to the computer. That is what they are supposed to do. iTunes should open a short time after that. If i Tunes doesn 't open, then click on it to open it. You should see your iPod on the left side.

I suspect that you are not using iTunes to put music into your iPod. You cannot 'drag' music into your iPod. ITunes has to put it there.

You should have all of your music in your iTunes library that you want to put into your iPod. You have to use iTunes to put music into your iPod. Actually, this is the easiest way.

Once your music is in iTunes, plug your iPod into the computer. When your iPod appears in iTunes on the left side, click on the music tab and tell iTunes what music and play lists you want to put into your iPod.

Then click sync at the bottom. The iPod will go into sync mode until all of your music is loaded. Then it will say sync completed. You can then click the arrow next to your iPod to release it from iTunes.

When you want to release it from your computer, click on the little green icon at the bottom right of your computer screen. If you don't see it, click the white arrow. Click on the green plug icon and wait until you see safely isconnect mass storage device from the computer. Click on that and wait until you see, 'It is now safe to disconnect your mass storage device from the computer". Disconnect your iPod now.

Hope that helps.

Lock my iPOd

plug it into your comp and iTunes will unlock it for you
This support document also provides additional information on locking and unlocking the iPod. According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the iPod by doing the following:
Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize
