I have just purchased a web cam but i have to install the cd rom i got with it.... the problem is i dont have any disk drives in my pc at the moment. is there a way i can install my web cam without the disc?
If the tablet pc has a usb port you can copy the contents of the cd to a usb flash drive, plug the flash drive into the tablet pc and run the setup file on the flash drive to install the webcam software to the tablet pc. Another option would be if the tablet pc has internet access go to the webcam manufacturers website and download the drivers and software for the webcam to you tablet pc desktop and install them that way.

This is in case you cannot boot into windows but you can get into bios:
Open your disk drive. Insert windows operating system disk into your disk drive. Restart your computer.
If you can get to the stage where you can see see bios entry key then
keep pressing whatever key it is that you press to get into bios at
Select the option that let's you choose the drive to boot from, mine is
in advanced bios options. then go to either something like bios features
or change boot drive.select whatever drive represents your CD-ROM drive
and select it to be the first boot drive.
then save exit bios, I do this by pressing escape then Y to save and boot from the rom drive.
This will let you restart your installation of windows and
re-format the drive...
If you can boot into windows:
Then either re-format the drive and delete the partition when you do or...
Run a recovery of the system by installing your disk and letting it get
to the stage wher it asks what action/task you want to perform and
press r when prompted then follow the prompts to repair the files. This
might not work though,
you could even try running a disk check as maybe a lucky chance of repair if you can get into windows.
If your PC keeps trying to boot from the CD drive after repair then
re-enter bios at start up and change your hard drive back to first boot
device to boot into windows.
It's better if you re-format though as repairing windows can be a little tricky.
First you need to make the USB CD-rom Drive as the first boot device by going to BIOS setup by tapping F2 when the system turns ON , after changing the boot order insert the first disc and restart the computer it should run from the disc.
this is a easy fix all you need is a windows xp installation disk.what you do is put the disk in and boot off of the cd option.if you need help with the xp cd installation i can write up a guide for you.also is the first harddrive new or came with the comp.if it is a new harddrive it might not have a operating system on it.email me if you have anymore qeustions or you want the guide.i can even make a video for you but it probably won't be good quality.
one possible way around is to copy the entire cd (make a new folder named "CD COPY" or similar) to your hard drive (assuming you have enough space...about 800 Mb), then run the install from setup.exe from the hard drive, then delete the copy (to make room) when you are done.
