If the pump works then there may be a blockage between the drum and the pump or between the pump and the drain.
See if you can blow down the drain pipe to eliminate this possibility. If the drain side is OK check for blocked filters. Also check that there is power to the pump during the pump-out part of the cycle. If there is no power you will have to investigate the programmer and associated electrical components.

Could be filter is blocked. Or drain pipe is blocked.
Fact it wouldn't spin, could point to blockage, as spin won't start if too much water in drum. Bad news is, it could be the water pump needs renewed.
Make sure drain pipe is properly connected to the waste pipe, and clear of obstruction.

My kenmore washer won't drain.

The top reason why that washer will not drain is gonna be the lid switch. Why you might ask?
The motor on your machine runs in both directions as it does triple duty. It washes it pumps and it spins. In one direction the tub is locked and the agitation washes them clothes. In the other direction it pumps and spins. The original models would pump and spin at the same time. This strained the motor so the newer models have a neutral pack installed in the tranny to allow the water to be drained first before she takes off. A momentary pause shifts the tranny fom pump to spin. If the water does not pump out it is because the lid switch is broken. Older models will allow the washer to wash but no spin with the lid open. Newer models won't allow for wash or spin. themobilian_1807.jpgthemobilian_1808.jpgthemobilian_1809.jpgthemobilian_1810.jpgthemobilian_1811.jpgthemobilian_1812.jpg
After you remove the case you will notice the lid switch quick connect has 3 wires. 2 hot wires and a green ground wire bolted to frame.
I jump the 2 hot wires so I can run the washer with the case off. I can
locate leaks and noises and observe the washer in action with the case off.

Hi I have a Hoover HNF7167. Machine was on a normal wash. When the cycle was finished the clothes were extremely wet. Put on a spin, still very wet, tried the drain cycle but this didn't work. I took...

Same problem here except the filter was clean. Got a new washing machine coming tomorrow. Looks like it could be the pump BUT after reading various web sites and auction sites it looks like it may also be the circuit board.

I have a top loading Kenmore Washing Machine. I don´t have the excat model but looks like a KENMORE HEAVY DUTY SERIES 70 AUTOMATIC WASHER, MODEL # 110.92273100. The problem presents after finishing...

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Washer won't spin and empty the water out of the

Shirley, it may be the drain pump is obstructed or possibly the lid switch is broken. If you washed bath mats or rubber backed rugs recently i would go for the pump. If you washed a semi bulky item with a tendency to float I would go for the switch.
Get me a model number and I can help you with dis-assembly if you'd like further help!

Avanti W797: Tub won't spin or water does not empty.

Had the same problem. The water pump is not working and since it cant drain water it wont spin. A easy fix. There's a magnet located on the water pump thats comes lose. Simply tie it back into place.

Hot point Washing Machine

LOTS OF VARIATIONS.  SOME W/MACHINES HAVE A SOAK BUTTON WHICH HAS TO BE DEACTIVATED TO ALLOW WASH CYCLE.   possibly wash winding defective.  could be loose connection at motor terminal as there are connections for spin and forward/reverse(wash cycle).if unit has element, select low temp and see if it washes.  need techi otherwise.

Actually it's Frigidaire CRTR9300ASO Help Please

Your pump doesn't have a pulley. With the washer full of water if your put it on the spin cycle will it pump out water? If so pump is probably ok and the pressure switch thinks the washer is full of water and spends the whole spin cycle trying to pump water out. If not then your pump is plugged or bad and needs to be replaced.  If your dooe latch is bad your door lock light would not come on. So if it does come on in the spin cycle that part is probably fine.
