IPod Touch-1.1.4 (8gb) can you tell me the procedure for up-grade/sync (?) for my iPod ? ......Thank you. Frederick Harris (lazarus60@yahoo.com)

iPods can be upgraded or synced by using iTunes. If you have a Mac, this is a relatively easy process; with Windows, you will have to first download iTunes. If you don't have a computer, you could always upgrade or sync through a computer that has admin access from a trusted friend.

Ipod classic won't sync with itunes 10

Restarting your computer is often the solution when your iPod fails to sync with your iTunes music library. But if this fails, there are other troubleshooting steps to take.

Recharge your iPod via a USB cable connected to your computer or AC adapter. b> Click the help menu in iTunes and check for updates. Follow the onscreen prompts to download and install the latest version of the software. Open the new version of iTunes. Click the name of your iPod in the source list and check for updates under the summary tab to update your iPod. Attempt to sync your iPod with iTunes. Slide your iPod's hold switch to the hold position and then to off. Press and hold the menu and center buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears to reset your iPod. Open iTunes on your computer and reconnect your iPod to try to sync it with iTunes. Restart iPod service b> Close iTunes and make sure your iPod is disconnected from the computer. Click the 'start' button. Click 'run' if using Windows XP. Type 'services.msc' in the run box in XP and in the search box in the start menu in Windows 7 and Vista. Press 'enter.' Scroll through the list and double-click on 'iPod service.' Click the 'stop' button and leave the properties window open. Connect your iPod to the computer. Open 'my computer' or 'computer' and look for your iPod listed in the devices with removable storage section. Click the 'start' button in the iPod Service's properties window. Open iTunes to attempt to sync your iPod. Close the iPod Service's properties window once your iPod has finished syncing. Resolve "Original File could not be Found" Double-click the name of a song in the iTunes program that failed to sync to your iPod. Click 'yes' or 'locate' to the message asking you if you want to locate the file. Navigate to the folder or directory location where the song is stored on your computer. Double-click the song file to select it and add it back to iTunes. Reconnect your iPod to the computer and open iTunes to restart the syncing process. Ipod classic 7th generation won't sync

Step 1:
With iTunes software, iPod users can manage their media libraries, purchase or import new content and synchronize their devices. The software has a number of convenient features, one of which is AutoSync. This feature will cause your iPod to automatically synchronize with iTunes immediately upon connecting the device to your computer. You can also set up iTunes so that you can manually sync your iPod.

Press the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys on your computer keyboard simultaneously while you connect your iPod to the computer using its USB cord. Mac users will press "CMD + Option" while you connect. Continue to keep the keys pressed down while you monitor the iTunes window. Keep the keys pressed until you notice that Auto-Sync has stopped and your iPod icon has appeared in the Source pane of iTunes. Be patient, as this could take between 5 and 30 seconds. Right-click on the icon for your iPod in the Source pane, and then select "iPod Options." Click to put a check mark in the "Manually manage songs and playlists" check box. This finishes your task and you can now manually synchronize your iPod whenever you wish by simply clicking on the "Sync" button.

IPod won´t sync

Could be a loose hard drive connection cable on the inside. Could also be some corrosion on the USB connection. Try a different cable. Put your ear to the back and listen for clicking noises from the iPod - if you hear it you might have a warranty issue with a bad HDD. Attempt a restore. Worst case, try to get it evaluated by a technician - do not try to open an iPod Classic yourself- you will most likely cause permanent damage.
