Try a different plug, perhaps its not getting sufficient power? Also, it should still be under warrantee, so you could try contacting sony

Hi,
You can try to do a system recovery on your PS3. this will set your PS3 back to factory settings as the settings may have been changed during the use. Here is the process in which you can do a system recovery.'

PS3 Recovery Menu

  1. Place the PS3 in standby mode
  2. Press and hold the power button for a couple of seconds, you should hear a beep
  3. Keep a hold of the power button for a couple more seconds, the PS3 should shut back down to standby mode
  4. Once this happens, press and hold the power button again for a couple of seconds, waiting for 1 single beep.
  5. Ignore this beep and keep it pressed until you hear 2 consecutive beeps, release the button.
I think you choose option 3 and then repeat and choose option 4. Once you are done with this, try out your PS3.

IT TURNS ON BUT THE PICTURE WANT SHOW...

Try the following steps :

Step 1. Turn the PS3 into standby mode (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later. Let go of the power button when you hear the second beep

Step 3. Wait for the PS3 to start up

What this does is force the video resolution to revert back to standard definition and should hopefully solve your problem

Thanks for using FixYa

PS3 not showing up on tv no matter what i do

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). The video settings should now be reverted. Doing this will also reset any theme settings.
I use this method to revert from HDMI 1080p to Composite 576p, without having to swap cables and change settings.

Game trys to load

Alot of people have had this problem, many people say buy a blu ray disk cleaner and it will solve the problem.....but i have found out a better way as i had the same thing happen to my ps3. I phoned up Ps3 support and they told me that i will need to 'restore PS3 system' this worked for me but the problem with it is it takes a while and more annoying it wipes out all your game saves, demos, photos, music and vidoes! so quite annoying, unless you have a external hard drive. If you have that, backup all your ps3 memory onto that before restoring the system. then once its done you can put it back on again.

1. Plug in controller
2. Have system in standby mode (red light)
3. Hold down power button for a full cycle (will turn on and back off again)

5. As soon as you hear the double beep immediately remove your finger from the power button.

Tv keeps knocking off to standby mode

It is most likely going to be a defective power supply but there are some other circuits that can cause the problem. I would start by unloading the power supply.
