Lexmark Z22 Printer Problem

Just make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, remanufactured or clone cartridges, you might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.

Try cleaning the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software installed on your computer instead:
1. On your computer, go to Start menu.2. Go to Programs.3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.5. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean it from dirt and possible clogs.
If that doesn't help but you're using genuine Lexmark supplies, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance, otherwise, please replace your color cartridge with a genuine one.

Try to re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

First you need to connect the printer to your computer with the supplied printer cable including the power cable.
You need to install the printer driver on you computer.
You may need to setup the printer preferences, eg. paper size etc.
You printer is now ready to print your documents. When you have opened an document such as a word document, to print this document click on file - print

Try the following check-lists

1.Initially ensure correct drivers are installed in the operating system you are using .This can be checked by seeing in the device manager or in the control panel-->printers and drivers option.

If drivers are correctly installed you will the printer symbol in printer options with the name of the printer.

Right click the printer and give test page as print

If the print is not working check whether the power cables and connecting cables are good.

Check the indicators in the printer does it shows any warning.if you have manual of printer you can verify from it

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

just go to the start up menu an click on control panel then click classic view you should see printer then click on it then click add printer

I would assume if your printer was hooked up to that high a voltage you would need to buy a replacement part for the power supply. Lexmark website states to replace it with a "Class 2" 20 volt dc at 500ma. Basically you just need to contact Lexmark and get the part and have a printer specialist install the new power supply. You could also try another power cable as well. Sometimes the cable is just fried and nothing is wrong with the printer.

Information gathered: Basically the printer carrier has stalled.
Lexmark documentation states that you should turn off your printer and wait a few seconds and turn the printer back on.
Restarting the spooler will sometimes do the trick as well.
Go to start, run
type: <cmd> without <>
Command prompt will open up.
Type: net stop spooler
The spooler will say it stopped successfully.
Type net start spooler
The spooler will say it started successfully.

The spooler service can be started following these directions.
Go to start
Go to run
In the open box type: <cmd> without <>
When the command prompt opens
type: net start spooler <Enter>
This should say that the spooler has started successfully.

Jess01: A driver is basically a communication device between your print device, which is your hardware "meaning can touch it" and printer software that is the language that your print device and computer can read. Your USB cable let's the computer know that your printer is connected. The software is needed so the printer has the language to be able to print what you tell it to.

Scroll down the page 'til you find Lexmark Z22 Color Jet Printer
To the right you will see "download"
Click the link.
Scroll to the bottom you should see "Please enter verification code"
Type the code in and click "download"
Click save.
The software should then be downloaded to your computer.
Go to the location you saved the printer drivers.
There should be a setup file.
Click on that.
The printer should then be recognized and you should be prompted that the printer is going to print a test page.
