Re: How can I set my Fuji FinePix S700 to print the date...
FIRST , go to MENU of camera and look for SETTINGS , DATE & TIME , if you dont see this option then refer to the camera manual to see if you have this option, some camras have this feature and some of them dont , hope this helps AJ

The camera won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo editing program should be able to display this data and overlay it onto the photo.
To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
Hi dear, you need to see the manual (http://www.retrevo.com/support/FujiFilm-S700-Digital-Cameras-manual/id/2488ag805/t/2/) Some camera only use viewfinder to shoot photo,The LCD is for setup and display photo only.Because it's off it will save a lot of battery power so that you can shoot more photos.Check it out in the manual.Have FUN!
I apologize, but did you check to see if the elexctronic viewfinder is active instead of the LCD screen? There is a switch to the right of the viewfinder labelled EVF/LCD and if you accidently pressed that then the LCD stays dark until that is pressed again when the camera is on.
The S700 doesn't have a date print function (so that the date appears on the image). Are you printing yourself, or having a lab print the photos for you? Some inkjet (home) printers can print the date on the image or on the border. Many labs (my Fuji Frontier digital lab, for instance) can print the date on the print for you, as the data is contained in the file data. Ask at the lab counter. They also shouldn't charge for this service, as it's a one-button operation.
