i had the same problem, but quickly solved it on my part.
what i did, was i changed it to data service and then scanned for myself... still no luck.
WITHOUT disconnecting from usb, i change tomass storage device and the scan. This time, scan takes longer but picks my kc 550 up no problem.

I've installed the PC suite for my LG KF750 and trying to connect with USB. The PC does not recognise the phone/connection, so the software just states 'no phone connected'. Any suggestions?
