Question about Sharp Wizard OZ-590A

2 Answers

Anniversary function I guess this is a simple problem, but I am lost. I input the date and event in the anniversary function and save it. It does not come up in my calendar, though it is in the anniversary list. The manual tells me that 'The anniversary sign will not appear until the day is set in the Reminder' - that is obviously true, but WHERE DO I FIND THE REMINDER? I can't find it and there is nothing to guide me in the manual. BTW, my organiser is labelled a ZQ-590, but everythinga bout it, including the manual, is the same as the OZ-590.

No it doesn't - that is the problem.
How do I get it to 'pop up on the screen'?

  • chickoinoz May 06, 2008

I have searched ...and searched. The only 'reminder' here is for a note to attach to the alarm - does not link to anniversary function.

  • chickoinoz May 06, 2008

The function does not 'pop up'. There is apparently meant to be some way to link the data that is entered in the anniversary function to a reminder function that sets it as an anniversary to come up the day prior as a symbol, and to show as a link on the calendar - as with scheduled items. It is how to move from entering the data in the 'anniversary' function to having it 'reminded' to come up as a symbol and to show on the calendar that no-one here can work out. Might say that the technical help centre at Sharp Australia couldn't help either - so much for that!

I forgot my security code on my phone how do i get 2 change or reset it when i am locked out?

I'm sorry to hear you are locked out of your cellular telephone. I will try to help you with this.

You didn't mention the make of your telephone nor your service provider.

Often, the default security code for a cellular telephone, the code that keeps the average person from using your telephone without your permission, is the last four digits of your telephone. Hopefully, you didn't elect to customize this number. If you did enter a different number, you may have to call your service provider. Try all the kids birthday anniversary or your house number before you call them.

I hope this works for you and you are able to use your telephone again.

Psion seems quite dead although the green light and the light on the charger both light up when connected to the mains, but nothing happens on the screen. Tried changing the round battery - no effect at...

You probably already know that all the Psion 3 models had a weakness in the screen ribbon. Some would last for years and others would be lucky to see you through to the first anniversary. There are plenty of way so to get this sorted. If you are not very keen to fix it yourself then best to try and get a replacement from Ebay or a trade in form some of the companies that still deal with these machines.

Outlook sync changes the dates (sometimes)

Hold the red power (end call) button, take the battery out, replace the battery. You will be prompted if want to reset the phone with Up for yes, and Down for no. This is how to completely wipe the phone to the state it was when you first bought it. Please make sure to have any custom applications and data on the device (other then data that comes from outlook) backed up. When you resync it to outlook, your contacts, emails, calendar etc will come back.

I have this problem with 43 of our Treo 700w's here with our cell phone carrier. They are not willing to spend the money on a fix for the time bug. It is caused by the new daylight savings time change. You can lessen the occurence of the problem however by unchecking the 'Use Network Time' feature when you reset the phone.

Losing data

Did your Palm happen to lose battery power?

You can check this by looking at the date/time under World Clock.

If the year is incorrect, it's likely you lost battery power.
If you sync again, it will ask you to choose a profile and select your current one.

Hope this helps!

Corrupt Date Book Fixed

Updated Instructions Simple fix for a corrupted Date Book sync error (at least it worked for me on my Treo 650). 1). Turn off 'Show Calendar Event' in the Phones 'Options - General Preferences' menu. 2). Turn off phone. 3). Set the Date/Time to the maximum limits (12/31/31) in Preferences. 4). Open the Calendar and view the maximum day 12/31/31. 5). Select 'Purge - (Delete events older then 1 week)' in the Calendars Options menu. 6). Reset the Date/Time to the current day in Preferences. 7). Hotsync (Desktop Calendar overwrites handheld). 8). Hotsync again to make sure you don’t get the error (Synchronize the files). That’s it. =============================== Outlook Calendar The attempt to open the database failed. Date Book application database is not found.
