It is highly unlikely, the "oil spots" would come from something you introduced to the washer in most cases it is from not enough water and the fabric softener makes the stains.

Change your dishwasher detergent to the ELECTROLUX brand. It has added chemicals to combat the problem you describe. time (in the laundry or machine), causing brown

is the washer noisey when spinning? If so its probable that the main bearings are worn, & losing the original grease into the wash tub. At 10-14 yrs old its probably not woth fixing (assuming parts are still available)
