You said it wont play anything...

    • Does it tell you anything on the screen?

    • Can you get to the main screen?

    • Are there any red lights around the power button on the xbox when you turn it on?

Also, your warranty may have been extended by microsoft. The best way to find that out is to call them, 1-800-4MY-XBOX

Does it have the three rings of death? Microsoft extended the warranty to three years so send it in to them.

Check out the xbox website and use the warranty verification tool to see if it is still under warranty. I believe the consoles with three red rings get an additional couple of years under warranty...

You mean the strum bar, right? In order to test this, strum up and down in any menu in the game. If your selection moves up and down then it's working, if it doesn't move at all, then you have a broken guitar. You'll need to contact EA for an RMA. Information on that was included in the packaging of your game.

Going to a screen that say e74

This is a common problem lately with Xbox 360 machines. Contact Microsoft, they will be able to help you. Do note that MS has extended the warranty of all Xbox 360 machines to 3 years from date of purchase for RRoD and e74 errors. So if you bought your system less than 3 years ago, this will cost you NOTHING.

Is it possible to fry your xbox 360?

The two red lights is an overheating issue. It correlates with the 3 red lights. First check with Microsoft if your warranty seal is still intact and ask them if its under warranty. also there are some vary qualified technicians who guaranty their work up to 90 days.

Xbox 360 won't work at all now

this sounds like your xbox is overheating. If you could try to run it in an area that has a lot of air that flows over the back. you could also plug in a usb fan on the back of the 360. note, if you continue to let the xbox overheat, this could lead to the rings of death which is three rings flashing. If that happens you have no hope. Hope this post helps.

Three red lights means your 360 is dying.
Hopefully it's still under warranty - and keep in mind that Microsoft extended the warranty for the 3 red light issue to 3 years, instead of just one. So if you bought it within the last 3 years, just call Xbox customer service at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. Be prepared to be on hold for a while. I believe you can also do this online.
They will send you a box and packing instructions, and they even pay for the shipping. Once you send it, you should get it back in about 2 weeks (or more likely a new 360).

Xbox 360 lock-up

First, do not open up your XBOX 360 at all. If you only got it a year ago, you will still have 3 years of free warranty on it.

  1. Try moving you 360 away from the TV and put it a a smooth surface that lifts the 360 up so air can ventilate out. This is usually the main problem.
  2. If this does not work, call xbox customer support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. (1-800-469-9269)
Hope this helps :)
