I cant seem to print, it says theres a communication error, iv done everything. i have the lexmark x3580 printer

Hi rima1st,

Printers can definitely be frustrating if they aren't working right, but often times it is one of several common problems that can make them work again. Here are some tips to help you troubleshoot your printer error, since we cannot physically test your connectivity to your printer at the moment.

1: Open your Printers & Faxes panel from your control panel. First, ensure that the correct printer is installed here, and that it is currently set to be the default printer.

2: Right-click on the default printer, select Open, and ensure that there are no print jobs currently queued to print. If there are several of them, delete them all to make sure a broken or stuck print job is not holding up the rest of your printing.

3: Double-check all connections to your PC from the printer, and make sure your printer does not display any errors that are related to it's functionality, rather than the computers.

4: Last but not least, you can uninstall and re-install your printer's drivers and set it up in your Printers & Faxes. This completely removes all of your computer's working knowledge of that printer and re-educates it on how to communicate properly to your printer.

Other than that, the problem could be related to a third-party program blocking your printer (spyware or virus) or it may be that your printer or USB cable are defective. Again, many possibilities and it's extremely difficult to troubleshoot with very limited information. Perhaps you could post a more detailed description of any error messages that your computer mentions, or what steps you have taken? Hope that helps.

Cant download drver software for lexmark x3580 onto acer aspire one


Try to download and install the X3580 printer driver from the Lexmark website. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.

My printer will not print still after I troubleshoot it and everything. I have a netbook laptop so I don't know why it's not printing. It says it's ready and everything


Problem Print job does not print; No Lexmark job status window Solution What you will see


  • The Windows print queue spools the print job.
  • The print queue icon appears in the systray or notification area.
  • The print queue icon disappears as if the print job has successfully been sent to the printer.
  • The print job disappears and does not print.
  • No Lexmark job status window appears to indicate a communication problem.
  • No other communication errors. This issue is most likely due to a corrupt device mode registry entry from another printer that was installed and used in the past.
Or
  • You do see the job status window and you do not see any alerts or communication errors, yet still nothing gets printed

What to do

A confirmed cause must be established before a resolution can be achieved.
To do this:

  1. download a diagnosis tool that will help determine the cause of the printing issue.
    IMPORTANT: Again, this tool is only to be used in cases where there is no communication error message from the Lexmark job status window and the job spools quickly through the Windows spooler, yet nothing prints.
  2. Select an easy-to-find Save location, such as your Windows Desktop.
  3. Double-click on the delserDevMode.exe file.
  4. Accept the License Agreement. After the file is executed, it saves devmode.txt to your root directory (e.g., C:\devmode.tx.

What inkjet cartridges for lexmark x3580


Are you sure of the model number? I looked on the Lexmark website and there is no listing for the X3580. Is this an American or some other country's model?

We have a lexmark p4350. we cant get it to print


The error indicates an error in communication either between cartridges or the cartridges and the printer. Cant download update driver for X3580 error message 1001


Try removing the command to startup the lexmark printer monitor from the startup file. Just run "msconfig" and uncheck the command. Then reboot and try the update again.

Lexmark x3580 not working properly


it must be the usb drivers problem.is the pc detecting as "new hardware found " when you connect the printer usb wire to the computer.

Lexmark x3580 printer


This doesn't sound like the exact text of an error message... if you can get me an exact quote, that would be helpful. But, the time out period expired sounds like it was failing to communicate with the printer. The first thing to do would be check the cable between the printer and the computer - make sure it's firmly in place on each end. Then, make sure the printer is coming on, and with it on try to install again.

If that doesn't help, please post the exact text of the error message and I will look into it further.
